kinahanglan ilang food kai 60% veggies nya 40% pellets. nya dili sila pwede i-overfeed. once a day ra na sila pakan-on, the amount of food kai pariha kadaghana sa pwede masulod sa ilahang ulo if it were hollow. resist the temptation if mu-beg sila...

for references, here's my journal entry sa multiply about sa akong RES...

if overfed, sliders will have speedy growth. dali ra mudako. they will also reach sexual maturity early. it does nothing good though because this will cause several organ failures and eventually die at a pretty early age.

mao na ang ubang taw mu-ingon nga ang RES kai dali ra kaayo mamatay. when in fact, they can reach 50-80 years old if taken care of properly.

don't forget the UVB lighting and calcium supplements.

try sera raffy mineral for the vitamins needed sa RES. you could also put a cuttlebone (kanang sa squid nga bukog nga ihatag sa mga langgam), get rid of the hard shell and feed the soft part to your RES once or twice a week for calcium.

but of course, walai ni siya'y epek kung wala sila'y UVB light.

for the UVB, naai flourescent lamps nga mag-emit ana (i ordered it online kai walai ingun-ana diri) or you can just let them stay under the sun for several hours a couple of times a week. para ni sa proper absorption of vitamins, prevent pyramiding and shell rot, and proper digestion. ang kidney sa RES ang unang ma-igo ug sakit if walai UVB source.

for a normal growth of RES, pila ba ka years normally before an RES could reach to 7 inches. My RES have grown up to that length in 3 years. Do you think I have over fed them?
