Help: Sending Messages and Calling problem

I donno if this is the right forum. Here's my problem:

I own a Nokia 6500 slide phone, it's brand new but yesterday I had problems sending messages and calling. I went to Globe where I got the phone and when we tested it everything was okay. When I went back home I couldn't call and text again. I think there is nothing wrong with my phone because a friend who came to the house also had the same problems but his phone was a K600. Is it my area. I know it's not the phone. But why are the other phones in the house working? Only my friend's, my brother's ( also k600) and my phone have these problems. Is it also because my 3G is on? How do I close my 3G?

bro try to check network settings - it must not be dual mode if naa prob ang 3G sa imo area... select GSM mode instead.
