    Default dual channel question

mga bradir, naa lang ko pangutana bahin sa dual channel.

For example naa ko mobo with 4 DDR2 memory slots, this mobo is capable of dual channel. kung naa ko naka-install karon nga 2Gig,

    Slot1: 1gig Kingston DDR2 533
    Slot2: empty
    Slot3: 1gig kingston DDR2 533
    Slot4: empty

    unya mo upgrade ko og

    Slot1: 1gig Kingston DDR2 533
    Slot2: 512 crucial DDR2 667
    Slot3: 1gig kingston DDR2 533
    Slot4: 512 crucial DDR2 667

as you can see, lahi na og brand, clock and memory size
my question is pwede bani nga setup?

your ddr2-667 would run at lower speed @ ddr2-533..

I think memory capacity is ok ra pero you need to run both sets of ram at the same clock speed. Its either ma overclock imong DDR2 533 to DDR2 667 pero most likely...ma underclock imong DDR2 667 to DDR2 533....

Some would also say that u might run into compatibility issues if you use different brands or memory sticks that arent matched pairs.

amen...basta mo work ok lang...the only place where you see a noticeable change in performance with regards to your memory setup is in memory benchmarks.and also in overclocking...kung wala ka ga OC then payts ra kaayo basta naka dual channel mode lang imo setup...
