dba na man ni xa webpage?
i was listening to both of their renditions of ikaw pa rin, (you can check sa youtube) with a bossa nova flavor, and sitti was no doubt better..and bossa nova suits her voice impeccably..raffi is promising though!!!
Haven't heard of Raffi, but she's a looker! no doubt! Sitti's overrated! She's singing rehashed Sergio Mendes and pop in 2/2 time, that's not Bossa Nova for Christ's sake! Listen to Gal Costa, Leila Pinheiro, Joao Gilberto, Luis Bonfa and not the usual Girl from Ipanema, Wave, Dindi with all due respects to Tom Jobim i've nothing against these songs, but the Bossa recordings you hear nowadays are nothing but "Bossanovized" pop. they're all playing commercially safe songs, not really pushing the envelope of Bossa Nova and the result is misleading. Magtuo lang ang mga ihas nga Bossa Nova has a finite number of songs.... I don't recognize Sitti as the Queen of Bossa Nova, binoang na sad na sa mga tagalog! Mas Bossa Nova pa ang Aquarela Band and Eileen Sison of Guarana. Mga pala...uu..... g ! ray ganahan ni Sitti, her vibrato is irritating!
Ahaka o hehe.
Yes, Guarana is great.
LOLZ! puwerte bitawng ahaka bai...duha ra gyud ka local bossa group akong gi respetuha, Aquarela Band and Guarana. kani gud ang uban, they're not doing justice to the late Antonio Carlos Jobim, ang madalidali ra gyud ug makanta are the usual Girl from Ipanema, Dindi, Wave, Meditation, and bossanova newbies will be misled into believing that pure BRAZILIAN BOSSA NOVA SONGS have a very limited repertoire, UNFAIR to JOBIM who I think has written over 300 songs. They should sing other Jobim classics like Ligia, Caminhos Cruzados, Fotografia, Estrada Branca (This Happy madness) ,etc. serious gyud ka'g bossa nova listen to this one:Originally Posted by basikoncept

wow u are derailing from the topic of this thread, the comparison is between sitti and raffi, who said something like who is the best bossa nova artist/crooner/chanteuses there is? no doubt sergio mendez and the above mentioned rooted bossa nova artist would come ahead than these two promising singers, and besides a comparison isnt something you would want to do, coz its palpably far fetched..and well a waste of time, why compare a legend to a rookie..or shall i say why compare janis joplin to joss stone, or ray charles to michael buble, there is no comparison..
and when u said mga pala uu..g ra ang ganahan ni sitti, are u pointing at urself..
btaw..everyone is entitled to their own opinion..
peace yea'll

Peace lage. Okay rana sila oe.
...fan baya ko ni Sitti... when she peforms on "Shall we Dance"... bitaw, the point is, these recording companies overkill kaayo ang packaging, it's not Sitti's fault when the P.R. guys give her the title "Queen of Bossa", pero that's bad for Bossa, instead of giving the public the pure and unadulterated Bossa Nova of Brasil, (pronounced Braziw in Portuguese)... what do we get? "Bizarre Love Triangle" by Sofia, "At Seventeen"...actually there's more to Bossa Nova than just the two-seconds beat and time signature, it's more complex than that. I SHOULD KNOW, BEEN PLAYING BOSSA NOVA GUITAR SINCE CHILDHOOD. Listen to Bob Basa's accompaniment of Eileen Sison... that's BOSSA NOVA! dili "Bizarre Love Triangle."Originally Posted by basikoncept
So my advise is if you're serious about Bossa Nova....explore beyond Sitti, Agot Isidro or Sofia. Paminaw mo ani:
