Another tip to add... don't underestimate the power of the http://www.dulcenegosyante.com/social-marketing-goldmine-top-100-social-networking-sites/"]social networking[/url] and http://www.dulcenegosyante.com/social-marketing-goldmine-top-100-social-video-sharing-sites/"]social video sharing[/url] sites.

I recalled, I have 861 diggs from my http://digg.com/business_finance/Top_20_Internet_Millionaires_Under_30"]1 blog post[/url] because of this, it gave me an additional PR upgrade from the latest Google PR update. Content is King! Ofcourse, there's numerous ways to trick the system (*hint black hat seo) but nothing beats the organic links in the long run.

xkcd, a very popular web comic, posted this entry some time on January 11, 2008: http://xkcd.com/369/

A few hours later, Google results for "died in a blogging accident" search string increased exponentially. I was amazed at how R. Munroe, the comic's author, held so much power that it skewed Google's results.

    This shows that:
    1. Content is king.
    2. A loyal fan base beats all search optimization techniques, hands down.

    Default Quick definition :D

    before starting a website:

    Website keyword selection:
In choosing a keyword, choose a keyword that is highly searchable and has a small count of competitors.
Don't use keyword that is having so many competitors, the competition you will have to outrank will be extremely fierce. This is not something you should try to take on right away.

Here's a quick definition of Page Rank. Page Rank is Google's way of giving a specific value to how popular your website is. It is based on the number of "votes" other websites cast for your website. A "vote" is simply when another website places a link on their website that is pointing to your website. Generally, the more "votes" or links you have pointing to your website, the higher your Page Rank (PR) will be. Page Rank is 1 of the many factors that Google takes into account when ranking websites.

Remember, the ONLY way to increase our website's Page Rank is by getting other websites to link to us (getting other websites to "cast votes" for us).

There are 2 types of search engine optimization methods, onpage and offpage optimization.

    Onpage Optimization:
Put keywords in the title tag or <h1> tag.
Insert image, make the filename as the keyword, and put the β€œALT” attribute for the image, that is, Alt=”[Site's keyword]”.

Put the keyword in the Beginning of the site and at the End of the site, that is, in the Top right portion of the page or at the bottom left portion of the image.

Remember, the main idea behind ranking well on Google is to analyze the top ranked websites to find out exactly what they're doing and then do those things, BUT just a little better to one up them and obtain a better ranking.

tips lang ni ako ha.. to optimize an article, you should consider different things, (base lang ni sa experience ha)

1.) put your keywords in the title of the article and also in the page title <title></title> where your article is located.
2.) page title should not be more than 60 characters, including spaces
3.) knhanglan naa ang keyword/s sa first 21 words sa imong article.
4.) ingon cla keyword density di na kuno mo matter, pero mo matter gyd ghapon. your articles should reach 250 words then with a keyword density of 4% - 6% .. kng mo reach naka ug 300 words, pwede ka mosaka upto 8%, bantayi lang nga dili mawala ang essence sa imong topic.
5.) keyword/s should be present in the last 21 words sa imong articles.
6.) pwede ka mag <h1> ka usa. pwede sad mag or <strong> ka duha.. more than that maglisod naka ug top.

bsta depende na sa imong keywords, kng wala kaau ka competition dali ra ka mo top sa SERP. Gamit mo ug wordtracker (seo tool) before mo mag himo ug article, para sure mo top gyd inyo articles.

to prove my worth. search sa google "wildlife on coins and stamps" naa koi article nga top one sa google (http://www.2-clicks-stamps.com/artic...nd-stamps.html). Naa pa ko dghan articles nga top one sa google..

    kana lang sa..

Offpage optimization basically consists of all of the ranking factors that are NOT located on your webpage, that the search engines look at when ranking a website.
    These include:
ο€*- Which websites link to you.
    - The number of websites linking to you
    - The Google of the website linking to you
    - The page title of the website linking to you
    - The anchor text used in the link linking to you
    - The number and type of links linking to the website that's linking to you.
    - The number of outbound links on the website that is linking to you
    - The total number of links on the website that is linking to you
    - Whether or not the websites linking to you are deemed by Google as an authority website.
    - The IP Address of the websites linking to you.[br]Posted on: January 22, 2008, 02:19:55 PM_________________________________________________O ffpage optimization is THE most important aspect of ranking well in ANY search engine, period. It's critical you know this. For offpage optimization...
ο€*You must have links pointing to your website.
ο€*These links must include your main keywords in the "anchor text".
ο€*It's best to get links from the exact same websites that the top ranked websites have their links on.
ο€*Try to get links from as many different IP Addresses as possible.
ο€*It's best to have close to the same % of links containing the specific keyword you're trying to rank well for, as the top ranked websites. Shows you
this. In order to get links to your website, you can trade links with other people
    buy sending link requests.
ο€*You can also buy text links from the places I mentioned
ο€*You can write articles and submit them to websites. Include a link to your website in the footer of your article.
Onpage optimization is still important, but just not nearly as important as offpage optimization. You should do both.
ο€*Include your keywords in your page title
ο€*Use the '|' symbol to separate words
ο€*Use only your main keywords. Don't use filler words. The '|' character will act as a filler
    ο€*Use <h1> and <h2> header tags
ο€*Bold, italicize, and underline some keywords
ο€*Place your main keyword at the beginning and end of your webpage
ο€*Include your keyword in the copyright footer of your webpage
ο€*Use <alt> image tags and include your keyword, plus the word "image" or
    "graphic" etc
    .
That's the basics of SEO that you MUST do to rank well.
