And just like anyone and anything in the public and private sector .

is there any assurance that legalization will indeed benefit them?
NO . Tha t though is the reason and purpose why it needs to be LEGALIZED . Just like when they planned and passed laws to other things ... walay assurance if kani masunod ba sa unsay naa PLANNED .

My take on this is that a state or a country is supposed to be or should be inherently AMORAL so it can deal with the issues squarely that's free from "religious" pressure or influence. Thus the purpose of separation of Chruch and State.

My best guess (and yours as well) why prostitution is impossible to legalize here is primarily politics. The religious vote is quite big that it can make or break a candidate's political career.

But I think we have looked at prostitution wrongly that it is a moral problem. I strongly think that it is largely a socio-economic problem that has been with us longer than the Bible or the Qu'ran was canonized. And despite the presence of these "holy books," prostitution continues to pervade as among old and modern societies' "social concerns" that all of the holy books and the institutions that promote them combined, have not even been able to resolve or eradicate to this day.

For as long as economic disparity exists, and for as long as there are people who place prostitution a personal than a moral choice, prostitution will and forever remain to be like any other trade you see on the streets. Prostitution is a fact that we all have to live and face every single day of our lives yet those who are opposed to its legalization haven't done anything concrete to reduce or at least curb its prevalence if indeed it is a moral problem.

If we can't do NOTHING why not do something to at least protect those who are into it than blabber to the farthest reach of our stinking anuses to spite its presence and decadence "kuno."

I also believe the imperatives to its legalization has never been more pronounced today now with more and more people have come from many places to seek intimate pleasure thru this means. And I ask those self-declared moralist if dropping a line of from the Bible helps or anthologies of God's wrath will prevent/stop them from buying *** any further.

This is NOT about moral choices that we need to impose on others. This is about personal and economic choices that we are not in control of and that the public needs to be protected from these people who indiscriminately bury their dikcs to just about anyone for hire.

thanks for summing it up bro...but one thing lang: socio-economics still leads to "morality perspectives" which i earlier mentioned as:
religion perspective, political perspective, anthropological, neuroscientific & psychiatric, evolutionary, and psychological...

prostitution is still a morality issue, either separately for church or state.

Legalization comes with responsibility. As far as I know before, the govt has this Social Hygiene Clinics. The purpose is to periodically check those who engage with the trade from possible STD.

When legalized, the market price would basically increase due to taxes, etc. The government would then have control over the trade.

With the kind of culture in the Philippines, legalization would still be a big issue.

for me it is tantamount to legalizing human trafficking.legalizing it doesn't give any guaranteed benefits for everyone.
