Default Network with Linux and Win PCS

Are there basic issues that need to be addressed when having a network with Win and Linux PCs connected? I.E. file sharing, TCP/IP etc..

I may have a network soon that will contain both types and although there won't be much communication from 1 station to another, was just curious as to what I need to watch out for..

There are no issues between them. TCP/IP isn't OS dependent.

To be able to talk to each other on non-routed LAN, they must be on the network sub-net. Take note on your IP address settings and netmask. Read this to understand better: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subnetwork
