Finally, I saw the film and endured through the films nearly 5 hour running time.. But this is a great showcase.. The talent and pure love in making the movie really shows.. It's superb..

This film already earned best film awards at the singapore and brussels international film festival and Gawad Urian.

I hope filipinos will take their time and watch this move and see for themselves the beauty of being a filipino...

The director Lav Diaz, has another film, Ebolusyon ng Pamilyang Pilipino,.. well haven't seen it yet but it clocks in at 10 hrs...!!

spending time with Lav Diaz and Rox Lee was something else. You get to learn the stories behind their films, their philosophies in filming, the trials and triumphs of their films.

with regards to batang westside, i really hope we'd get to see it here in cebu.

I saw the film in a special screening in Manila.. I think they have plans of screening it here in Cebu pero damn, sitting in the movie house from 10 am up to 3 PM well, there was free lunch..., it was tiring and requires patience..

Ambot tu-od if naka survive tu-od to si Mr. Paredes, but I was with him, Mrs. Tabotabo. Mrs. Alino and many AA students during one of the workshops of .MOV (free man, for observing spectators)
but as it was finals week, I didn't even have time to at least view a line-up of shorts like I did with S.U.K. back in January.

I did not survive Ebolusyon since I had to go in and out of the cinema since I was a volunteer for .Mov. But the first 2 hours which I saw was great, even joked to Lav Diaz about giving out t-shirts to those who will survive 10-hours.

He also told me the ordeal of shooting inside the jail house, he slipped in and out of fever in-between shoots because to the exhaustion caused by extreme heat.

Ebolusyon won several awards in the recent Urian. Batang West Side won several awards as well. is he good or is he good?

I admire Lav Diaz.. He really has a passion for film making.. Any movie that clocks in at 10 hours.. 10 hours!!! and yet manage to make it consistent and watchable must be really talented and dedicated...
