personally, i would go for the 2.8L IS
"puslan man nanghilam-os ka, kaligo nalang"
but i cant justify to myself buying ~100k lens nga for hobby lang hehehe...i might settle with 2.8 non IS...thanks guys for the inputs...mongos mongos ko ani for 12months...hehehe
get the IS...trust me...its a better buy for you eric...Originally Posted by yatakitumbi

use the extra cash (from not buying the 2.8 none IS) for other shooting expenses nalang...

just go for the f2.8L IS... we got a f4.0L IS, but still we're going after the f2.8L IS. the thing is you'll be maximizing both on the apperture and shutter speed if you have this lens
bitaw sir, go where your budget takes you...it's all up to you.
mahitabo ani jhnpl nifty fifty ra gihapon ko hehehehe
bai with this kind of shot, even an f4Lis is very capable or even give you better bokeh if you know how to use it. with an f4Lis (i do this with my sigma 18-200 OS also), shoot your subject at the long end (150-200mm), even with an opening of f5.6 or 6.3 you can definitely blur your background kung i-dul-it nimo ang imo lens sa imo subject (you have to go nearer and compose your shot)... so ang f4Lis will do the job. pero kung gusto lang ka mag-sniper, bisag f2.8 usahay dili nimo makuha ang bokeh nga gusto nimo... of course it would be handy to have 2.8 in your sleeves when you need to show some more tricks hehehe.Originally Posted by yatakitumbi

hehe mao gyud bai...
btw, check out the new canon ef-s 55-250IS f3.5-5.6, this lens is getting very nice reviews so far. and its only 14t or even less![]()
