Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email

i received an email(the one i use to register in istorya) from a new site keeper about a seminar. and there's a note there that say's :

To unsubscribe from these announcements, login to the forum and uncheck "Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email." in your profile.

Well, I don't want to receive any announcement in my personal email and I couldn't find the option above. I already looked through preferences and settings. Help mods. And did anybody else receive the same email ?

Have you checked in your Profile's Modify Profile > Notifications and Email?

I don't even have the option to not receive announcements. Was it disabled? Hi BeoR! Then again, I didn't get any announcement recently.

I don't know about anyone else, but moderators shouldn't be "Announcing" posts by refraining from checking that box. The only announcements I have received are from Galadriel and they were justifiable and was related directly to iSTORYA and charitable events.

isn't that for threads that i specifically asked notifications for via the "notify" button above every thread ?
i only checked "Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply." option and my (notification) threads and boards lists are empty.[br]Posted on: November 23, 2007, 10:33:25 PM

got an email again from the same mod. grrr. its getting a little bit irritating na. that's abuse of power na ha. it wouldn't matter if naa pa mi choice not to receive these announcements. Here's one of the emails I received :
