as for me..dont ask..it is time to have a man of integrity and a 100% BISDAK in the presidency!!!

Lawyers recruit justice chief to run for president

CEBU CITY -- Seven months and four days from his retirement from the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. is already being recruited for another job: President of the Republic.


Davide promptly declined the offer, just as he did in previous calls to run for office.

The chief justice intends to settle down, write a book and become an environmentalist.

Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) national president Jose Anselmo Cadiz, in an address met with applause, said a new Philippine president from the south may result to "a new Philippines and the dawn of a better motherland."

"This country needs a savior. We need to turn things around," said Cadiz, who was among the speakers in the testimonial dinner hosted last night by the IBP national office for the chief justice, at the historic Fort San Pedro.

i really admire the chief justice when he turned down the tempting offer.

i am not saying he will not make good as a president. we all know how dirty politics is. it will just stain Davide's legacy to the judiciary.

@bfginus, hoi ai pataka tabi diha bai. kaila ka ni davide? right now he's not a politician, and most of all, di siya mangingilad. tarong kuno sa imung mga gipang yawit diha bai.

he's not into politics right now. but that does not make him less of a politician.

sorry, blank check, davide is not the best thing that ever happens to the supreme court.

i doubt he could be the better thing to happen to the highest office of the land if, god forbid, he becomes the president.

once a politician, always a politician.
