Btw, I am not despising PHP programmer but I encourage to do more than just PHP. If you're into software engineering, you should bet either of these platforms/languages: C/C++, Java, or .NET. Knowing one assembly language is a plus.

Because software engineering is not an exact science. You might miss deadline. Might be his design or architecture sucks and it did not work. etc etc etc or I wonder there is planned design in that project.

Buy 1 book and kugi lang. praktis and himo ug personal project. join a discussion forum like http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cebuseg . learn from the masters specially in engineering. I heard they are offering free lessons for the group and group study.

yep, it's not really worth it. anyone can learn these server side scripting anyway. but he took the exam for free (company expense) so, kagat dayon hehe
