Recently seen them appear on the shelves at an SM store.
Googled about them over the net and come up with this October X-bit article:

Excerpts:
Several stores across the world recently started to sell AMD Athlon LE-1600 and LE-1620 central processing units with 45W thermal design power and 1MB of secondary-level cache. The new chips use the same type of marking as most AMD processors launched in the second half of 2007 with the first units released being new dual-core Athlon X2 BE-2000 and single-core Sempron LE-1000-series.
The new AMD Athlon LE processors 1000-series will offer considerably higher performance due to higher clock-speed compared to AMD Sempron LE 1000-series chips, however, the new central processing units will still be considerably less speedy than dual-core offerings. Initially the fresh family will contain two solutions:
* Athlon LE-1620 (ADH1620IAA5DH): 2.4GHz frequency, 1MB L2 cache, Socket AM2, TDP=45W
* Athlon LE-1600 (ADH1600IAA5DH): 2.2GHz frequency, 1MB L2 cache, Socket AM2, TDP=45W
The LE-1600 was the only one I saw on sale though.
I was wondering why the overclocking crowd here in istorya isnt all over this thing yet. I mean does'nt the TDP on this processors just scream "overclockable?"
It's intriguing also to note that they come with 1MB L2 cache, which is 512k more than the cheaper by 300 pesos A64 3000+. IIRC, the LE-1600 was priced at P2,400+ while the A64 300+ was at P2,100+
Although customer reviews should'nt be taken seriously, I was astounded by what was posted over at newegg.com.

low energy usage, 1MB L2, low price

This thing is great for a single core processor 1mb l2 cache. overclocks like a champ took mine straight to 2.8... then to 3.1 running orthos stable for 24+ hrs temps full load all fans set to low 37-40c. tops

O.k. to those that understand the concept of overclocking, this will be beneficial: WOW! This thing overclocks like a MONSTER! Low wattage requirenment = low heat = more overclocking potential! Stock, this thing puts out a beefy 2.2GHz at 17 degrees C! Well, after a couple days messing with the settings and running it overnight (over 12 hours) and running 3DMax '06 (benchmarking program) it is now at a still-cool 37-40 degrees UNDER HEAVY LOAD!!... guess how fast it runs now? 3.2GHz and without even breaking a sweat!! WOW! 45% overclock on an OEM FAN/HEATSINK AND IT STILL RUNS COOL!! Did I mention that this is probably the best bang for the buck, PERIOD?

low power consumption,easily overclocks(got mine to 2.55ghz and still just 38c under full load with stock hsf) low price

Great overclocking potential. i have never experienced such a cool runnning processor it adled at 4C yes you are reasing correctly 4C with the stock heatsink and fan (with artic silver 5 though). i overclocked this processor to about 2.6 and idled at 13C and under full stress went up to about 20C. I think AMD means it when they say Quiet because you can't hear a thing coming from this processor.
With such claims I think it maybe worth considering it my main rig, since:
- I'm looking to lower my electricity consumption.
- I don't really do any heavy multi-tasking. Actually my definition of multi-tasking consists of browsing the net, watching videos, and downloading torrents all at the same time. That's it.
- I'm liking a silent P.C. ryt now.
The problem is most people might be turned off by its being a single core, especially with Dual and Quad Core's becoming all the rage nowadays.
