all i know is that warmth (apil na gyud ang steam bath ana kay warmth man ) dilates your blood vessels which means that blood circulation is maximized. and we know that blood carries oxygen and nutrients to our organs so that's a good thing. warmth also has a relaxing and rejuvenating effect.

steam baths are good for unclogging ur pores giving u clean and glowing skin!
i use the steam room then go to the ice machine and rub ice all over myself which is supposed to be good for circulation.
steam and saunas are not ideal for people with heart problems. going from hot to cold afterwards rapidly constricts the blood vessels and increases your blood pressure... You are, in effect, forcing yourself into a situation ripe for a heart attack. so its really not for everyone.
