ABS-CBN mixes touching performances from today’s top child stars with a renowned komiks writer’s classic dramatic story in its newest production, Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit. Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit is set to make its first broadcast this Monday, May 9 right after TV Patrol.
A return to the glory days of television melodrama, Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit is ABS-CBN’s top-flight teleserye version of the 1970s movie of the same name, produced by legendary Filipino film icon Fernando Poe, Jr. Written by novelist, komiks writer and current Screenwriters Guild of the Philippines president Pablo S. Gomez, the movie version of Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit won the Best Picture title for producer FPJ in the 1970 FAMAS Awards, and garnered a Best Child Performer trophy for its then pint-sized star Roderick Paulate.
This teleserye version, which uses the original title with the blessing of FPJ’s widow, screen queen Susan Roces, spotlights the talents of ABS-CBN’s newest child stars Nikki Bagaporo, Carl John Barrameda, John Mando, Miles Ocampo and Sharleen San Pedro. Cast as street children, the five young stars, who have already made the entire country laugh in the Sunday night hit Goin’Bulilit, will now get the chance to make you cry in this heart-tugging saga, made in the tradition of tearjerking television dramas like Gulong ng Palad, Flor de Luna and Annaliza.
Joining Nikki, Carl John, John, Miles and Sharleen is young actress Eliza Pineda, as well as some of the country’s finest dramatic actors, led by Johnny Delgado, Maricel Laxa, Sylvia Sanchez, Ana Capri, Ryan Eigenmann, Allen Dizon, and Ms. Alma Moreno.
