this sounds crazy....

What the philippines should do is promote and support other sports as viable alternatives so mas daghan opportunities for athletes.

Pero if walay interest ang tao ug particular sport... no one will watch... and no one will sponsor it... so dapat naa gyuy ma generate na interest...

Badminton is an example of a recent sport w/c took the interest of people.

Philippine basketball has degraded in time, but FYI, we have a very rich basketball history. RP has been a constant Olympics qualifier and participant during the 1950s and 1960s. RP is still a basketball power in Asia, in time, given the proper training, support, and time, we can compete in the Olympics once again.

Commercialize and market other sports, do not abolish basketball.

A big NO. Basketball plays a vital role in RP sports. Abolishing it is just like forgetting Jose Rizal's part in Philippine history.
