yes i guess eraserheads are influenced by the beatles and paul mccartney's wings.
one thing i believe was the cause of the break up is that ely has a very big ego (maybe of the fact that he's the composer of almost all eheads hits). I believe that part of the eheads success and a good sound was that buddy zabala (one of my favorite bassist) compliments ely's songs (not to mention raymund). buddy's style nails the 60 and 70's style music. i come to this conclusion when i listened to the sound of pupil. ely reinvented himself(soundwise) but his band mates (though they are good) doesn't create much beauty to his songs.
In short, (for me) he left the guys who could bring out the best in him.
Moral lesson: there are certain people you think you can live without, but the truth is they are the ones who made you what you are now. make them special.
