    THE LATEST

SIXERS FIRE GM BILLY KING, HIRE STEFANSKI

After five years, the Sixers have part ways with president and general manager Billy King and recently introduced their new head of management Ed Stefanski. Stefanski was most recently General Manager of the New Jersey Nets where he spent the past nine seasons in various capacities, including General Manager (2004-2007), Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations (2003-04) and Director of Scouting (2000-03). Stefanski becomes the 11th General Manager in the team’s history.

    >> This move has already been questioned by analysts and critics since wala pa gani ang half sa season, gi-fire na dayon nila ang GM. And, one more thing, all they did was to wait after their recent game against the Atlanta Hawks. It's like, if the Sixers lose this game in Philly then Billy King axed. Banga jud ning Hawks, mao jud base-han kung angayan ba naa ipalagpot or dili. I bet if the Knicks lose two home games vs the Hawks, trade siguro tanan Knicks excluding Isaiah Thomas.

Well, Stefanski's gonna have to pull the trigger and do something about the current line-up. For me, though, they should've axed Billy King right before the lottery since they had first round picks to start with. I bet Billy King would be remembered as the guy who traded Allen Iverson for not-so-valuable-pieces.

BOBCATS SIGN VAREJAO TO OFFER SHEET

In need of a big man, the Bobcats reached agreement Tuesday on a three-year offer sheet with Cleveland restricted free agent Anderson Varejao, giving the Cavaliers a week to match the deal or lose him.

Financial figures were not available. Varejao's agent, Dan Fegan, could not immediately be reached.

    >>Hmmn... interesting. The Cavaliers have 7 days to match the offer, which was recently reported that they're going to match it. Cavs have an MLE which roughly $5.3M to spare, while the Bobcats are $3-4M under the cap so i guess Charlotte is going to introduce themselves to luxury taxes to get Varejao. This could boil down to a sign-and-trade if both parties agrees into something, or if that something fathoms something that is something.

The San Antonio Spurs received some encouraging news Monday afternoon when an MRI exam came back negative on Tim Duncan's right knee and right ankle, both injured in the first half of Sunday's home victory over Portland.

Duncan has been ruled out of Wednesday's ESPN-televised showdown with San Antonio's longstanding rivals from Dallas, but Spurs' spokesman Tom James said that a firm diagnosis on how long Duncan will be out is at least a day or two away.

The good thing about the Lakers now is that their bench and support cast is responding actively and positively. So far, Kobe Bryant is not as high-scoring as he used to be in the past 2 season but the Lakers are getting much better results.

Phoenix wins third in a row.

Amare Stoudemire scored 42 points as the Suns salvaged a win against the Indiana Pacers, 121-117. The Pacers came back after being down by 12 points in the fourth quarter. Steve Nash finished with 18 points and 17 assists for the Suns.

The Suns went up to 14-4 and holds the fourth best record so far.

    1.) Boston -- 14-2
    2.) San Antonio -- 15-3
    3.) Orlando -- 16-4
    4.) Phoenix -- 14-4
    5.) Utah -- 13-6

Hahay New York.. how I wish the Knicks are back to the Patrick Ewing and John Starks era.
remember ko ani na game! hyped kaua ng boston players ani kai prior to the game, ingun si Quentin "Biatch" RIchardson na ang maayu sa celtics ang big 3 ra daw (Garnett, Pierce, Allen) then after ana, puro na daw mga banga... mau to the big 3 played less than 30 mins each. puro na bench g pa duwa sa 2nd half (Posey, House, Glen "big baby" Davis etc...) 50 labaw... g tiwasan! eheh

i think what he meant about payback was the 28-point defeat of the nuggets to the lakers last week.Ü
