Filipinos being mayabang in nature has helped a lot our country.
Spending more than they earn para lang makita nga wala nagkalisod. Kabantay mo, daghan gyud kaayo bangko, lending ug pawnshop sa pinas kay ngano...................... daghan man hingutang.

i have been here in the states for well over a year now and heres what i have observed. the one that does most of the talking or yabang as we call it are most often times the people who were either uneducated and were just lucky to be here because of some relative, or that having a blue passport has made them forget of who they really are and where they have come from. the barrios, bukid, gubat, all these are forgotten dahil american citizens na sila. and lastly, there are also those who are simply born mayabang. but most of the time these 3 are the primary reasons why filipinos are mayabang. palibhasa may laman na ang bulsa kahit konti akala mo bida na. the funny thing is..........those elite filipinos in states, as in those elite in society at di yung elite elitan lang, they are the ones who do the less talk and show more actions. does this mean filipinos are mayabang? if you ask me my answer would be simple. "people will always be different from everyone else. Different in attitude, philosophy, work ethic, etc. but that doesnt mean that just because mayabng ang isa ibig sabihin nun mayabang na din ang iba. it all depends on how you look at it."

i agree, i think people should know the clear line between mayabang and inggit. mayabang ba tlaga siya o baka naman inggit ka lang kaya mo nasabing mayabang siya? think about it? most of the time, when a person rises up from society what do people tend to say?.....MAYABANG SIYA...makes sense doesnt it? if your rich like lets say....bill gates and you bought a new porsche, does it make you mayabang? i dont think so, you can afford it so whats wrong? if you buy things you can afford and people call you mayabang that is crap, but....a big but, if do things that are way beyond your capabilities, that right there is mayabang.

At nothing wrong with being proud. Basta hindi lang salita.
