Some random thoughts on today's Manila Pen Siege by Trillanes et. al.

    FROM:
    http://financemanila.net/2007/11/29/...over-thoughts/

    * tear gas was used, but sprinkler system was not seen kicking in. or did it?

    * Trillanes at beginning of siege: said something to the effect that they will take their stand no matter what

    * Trillanes at end of siege: we surrender and are willing to face the consequences. What willing to face are you talking about? You walked out of your coup trial?

    * Almost all the unanswered questions they read against the government still needs to be answered, just like in the Oakwood statement read by Trillanes. But what kind of country are we where anyone can just hold buildings and public areas hostage with bombs and arms?

    * Some church members get involved. I really hate it when they do. That the church split and splintered upon themselves hundreds of years ago is really due to human flaw. The flaw which stems from greed, ego, materialism among others. What is this country where most politicians running from office would need the blessing of Religious leaders, if not, they will be bashed in weekly sunday service? "pay me contribution or I will not endorse you and bash you in my sermon". That is the direct message of Church getting involved in politics.

    * Some Catholic schools actually have buildings donated by a Motel chain owner. That's good, don't ask where the money came from, turn a blind eye, we want money! Give credit to Motel owner, though, if he is doing that for repentance and good karma, but close all your chains as a sign of good faith!

    * Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I admit being a sinner myself, but I am not in the media limelight right now for twice holding Makati hostage to my whims, and I am not in trial, and did not walk out of the trial of my past bombing attempt.

    * Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Oakwood Mutiny was seen on TV that Trillanes held a portion of Makati hostage by surrounding the area with bombs. Yet he was the first to point the finger on the government during last Month's Ayala Glorietta bombing.

    * Jesus said to forgive seventy times seven. Running priest Robert Reyes could not forget the government's alleged trespasses against the people, but can forgive Trillanes' continued blatant trespass against law, safety, and economic sabotage? That's what happens when Church people take political sides.

    * As I recall correctly, after Oakwood Mutiny (or some other crisis), PGMA was supposed to send her son Mikey and husband Mike in exile so they can no longer dabble in any political or business entanglements in the Philippines? Why did that plan not push through? And now Iggy is also in the scene? That could have been a nice turning point for change.

    * More on Church. I believe hundreds of years ago, whether B.C. or A.D, when there were only a few people on earth, there was only one religion, preaching how to love one another and do good to your neighbor. It is the human folly to claim "my way is better" that all these religions splintered into their own chaotic state that they are now: judaism, hinduism, islam, roman catholic church, protestant, jesuit, iglesia ni christo, el shaddai etc. "there shall be no other Gods but me"- roman catholic commandment. "If you are not Christian, you will not be saved"- some Protestants. Why can't we all just get along- dragon.

    * Showbiz director Bibeth Orteza said something to this effect, "she thanked the media for sticking by the mutineers not because it is their job to get the news, but because they (the media) believed in their (Trillanes) cause. Suuuuuuure.

    * Some mediamen were taken into custody, not arrested in the form of incarceration. To determine in a safer quiter place whether who is really from the media or which Magdalo officer ditched their uniform and went civilian.

    * Father Robert Reyes and Trillanes on Army taking Manila Pen by force saying something to this effect, "see what they are capable of, they will try to hurt you mediamen". My golly, if i come over there and hit someone with a bat at random, shall I complain from the consequences that arise from my action?

    * PSEI Philippine Stock Exchange Director Vivian Yuchengco was seen on ANC TV News interview just after the market closed as stating that the snipers should shoot the Manila Pen instigators. Some people argue that as a person of responsibility, she should be more careful with her words. I don't think so. She is entitled to her opinion, as I am to mine, and I agree that this circus should have ended by terminating those involved. Full Assault should have continued right after the teargas!

    * As stated before in our political discussions in our Forum, whatever this political solution will be, it's going to take a long time before this country can heal itself politically, socially, religiously, and financially. It is just right to still continue migrating to other countries or working abroad, because we are still continuing to self destruct.
