Wala mo migrate from .Net to Java because .Net is a closed-source application and single platform while Java is open-source and multiple platform. I think kana nag-migrate to .Net is ilang development or product is for the Microsoft OS.

JSP sites is just only few because it is more likely the View of the web application.
mora mo dagan naman c# og linux bai because of Mono. also mora gi Open man sa MS ang .Net Source?.

Naa Mono (Linux/Unix) or Rotor (FreeBSD) but Way behind pa kaayo ang Mono sa Windows .NET. Hastle kaayo gamiton kung mag-develop ka both Windows and Linux OS.

Mura ba dili pa siya maka-compete as a Multiplatform programming. Dili pa siya na Write Once Run Anywhere (WORA).

Actually gi-basa nako ang link but sad to say DILI pa open-source : "The source code is released under a new license they are calling the Microsoft Reference License (MS-RL), this is not an open source license."
Nindot unta kung gi-license as GPL (i.e. PHP, Linux, Java) or BSD.

PHP is not for large projects. It is an easy language but is not maintainable. You can even put all your program in one file. hehehe...

Although, a lot of frameworks have emerged to improve this. But it's not for large and specially enterprise projects.

As i had known..... almost 70% is using in PHP and PHP EVOLVING IS REAR FAST there a lot of functions that has been created. and since it is opensource it will be more productive and more powerful in the future.

for a good combination. PHP+AJAX+XHTML+CSS+XML+JAVASCRIPT is a good team up.

PHP is an easy language to learn and it has a large community supporting it, so I think it will always be around.

If the original question refers to commercial websites (micro - small businesses) that are not mission-critical, then PHP stands a good chance. But when enterprise applications are discussed, then, imho, I seriously don't think so.
