Jason Williams saves the day for Miami, and finally, after 5 straight opening loses, the Miami Heat barged in to the win column, 75-72 over the New York Knicks. Udonis Haslem had 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Heat, outdoing Knicks' David Lee's very own 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Washington Wizards avoided it's worst franchise start by defeating the Atlanta Hawks 101-90. The Wizards, who went up to 1-5, was led by Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison respectively with 24 and 23 points respectively, surviving the 23 points of Josh Smith, 22 by Joe Johnson, and 20 points and 12 rebounds by Marvin Williams.

Finally, Miami and Washington are no longer winless.

Kevin Durant remained winless in the NBA.

    Interesting facts (so far):

**Miami, Washington, Chicago, and Golden State have all started at 0-4. It's the first time in NBA history where 4 teams who made it to the playoffs the previous season started 0-4 the next.

**Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGracy will be facing each other for the 16th time in their career. In their last 2 games, Bryant outscored McGrady, 98-60, but McGrady and the Rockets won both games. In their previous 15 encounters, Bryant outscored McGrady 13 times.

**So far, Boston's trio of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce are averaging more than 20 points per game. The Celtics only had one season where three players were able to average more than 20 points in one season. John Havlicek, Bailey Howell, and Sam Jones did the trick in the 1966-67 season.

**Trade partners Kevin Garnett and Al Jefferson both tallied a double double performance in each of their first 5 games. The last player to achieve a double double in his first 6 games with a new team was Danny Fortson with the Golden State Warriors during the 2000-2001 season.

**Toronto had already won two road games with a margin of at least 30 points. Before the season, the Raptors only had 2 road games won by more than a 30 point margin for it's franchise history, both during the 1996-97 season.

**Dwight Howard, Shawn Marion, and Emeka Okafor all grabbed at least 20 rebounds last November 9, 2007. The last time when three players grabbed at least 20 rebounds in the same day was October 29, 2003 (Kevin Garnett, Marcus Camby, and Tim Duncan).

**So far, Deron Williams is averaging 21.0 points and 10.4 assists per game and hits 51.9% from the field. Only 2 players has managed to average at least 20 points and 10 assists and hit more than half of their shots in one season, Magic Johnson (1986-87 and 1988-89) and Kevin Johnson (1988-89 and 1990-91) did such feat.

**Ben Wallace averaged 10.7 rebounds with his first season with Chicago. Now he's averaging a measly 4.8 boards per night. The 5.9 rebound dip is the most by any player who has played at least half of the team's games in both seasons.
