Bitaw, like I said. Wala pod ta kahibaw kay dili bya ta taga-Manila so wala pod ta kahibaw sa ilang underground scene whereas naa ta diri sa Cebu kay mas sweto jud ta sa atong underground scene...

Apple Drive is the best band for me in the country.. less lang ang ila exposure.. and they are from Cebu.. rare kaayo sila.. unique pud
My two cents:
Being involved in manila's underground/mainstream scene for a few years now, be it alternative/emo/metal/reggae or whatever genre for that matter, i can say that bands here are also struggling. From playing at gigs to recording their music, budget is a really big factor. Since most of the productions here are "Ticket Selling" prods. Meaning if you're in a band, and you wanna play at this certain event, prods would require you to bring a number of guests before you can play. Meaning if you don't have many friends to invite to see your gig, you'd have to pay the entrance of the required number of guests yourself. Meaning if you're broke and alone, regardless of your talent and expertise, you just can't score a gig. And you also can't blame the productions because majority of the bars in manila have a bar/gate guarantee. That for 1 night, the bar has to have a total sales ranging from 8k-15k. If ever the bar doesn't meet that amount, the production has to pay for the difference. What I'm trying to say is, there are lots of good and talented bands out here in manila but life here is just too damn hard. Another thing, madaming posers dito sa manila. By posers, i meant, mga tao na nakikisabay lang sa uso.
As for cebu's underground scene, I was fortunate enough to witness a metal gig. Actually, it was a 2-part metal gig so i was there for 2 nights. I had such a wonderful time. I enjoyed every moment of it. The underground metal scene of cebu is much more united. Talent-wise, hands down ako sa mga cebuano. I just don't know if ticket-selling is also done by productions in cebu.
When i got back here in manila, all I could think of was sana may Zzubu din dito sa manila. Hehe!
