My cousin has a Focus 2006 and he have more complaints because they get easily broken. Few months of driving, he said you hear squeaks and rumbling sounds. IMO, ford cars or ford made cars (most american made cars) have expiration dates... 5 years and you have tremendous headaches when repairs are made.
I bought civic long time ago and my problems are tires, wipers, oil change and lube. My civic is 2000 model and the engine isn't open yet. My sister has a corolla 1997 and no big problems so far.
corolla....toyota's are much cheaper to maintain....
corolla....durable and efficient as evident on toyota corollas that are turned into taxis
civic...cannot be turned into taxis because they dont want people to know that the civic cannot operate 24hours or cannot withstand our taxi driver's driving style, which is mechanical/engine torture at its best...hehehe

hmmm..recreation man sd hehehe..
