music school advice

hey guys, im currently looking into music schools (for guitar) and ive been told by a lot of people that i should check out the musicians institute, it seems like a really great place from what i've read and heard about it... anybody gone there or know some more about it?

Try Berklee in Boston. The thing is, it's a College for Music so probably, they'd concentrate more on academics.

what state are you in? be specific so we can help and stuff.... but as of now, learn by yourself it's very interesting... infact that's how i learned how to play the guitar and stuff...

yea, you hit the nail on the head... i'd like to focus just on music, no outside academics if possible, i like that part of the musicians institute a lot...

Where you go for instruction depends largely on your current skill level on the guitar. It would be a waste of time and money to choose any kind of advanced training if your are not already really proficient on your instrument. If that is the case, try finding a local instructor first...one on one instruction is better anyway - vince

i'm quite advanced as it is... so i'd like to go somewhere that really challenges me and makes me into a "complete" player, i've heard a lot of stories lately of the MI doing that for people...

Like what GLASSMOON said... try BERKLEE School of Music in Boston...
it's one of the most Prestigious music school in the U.S. ..
if you're into Classical stuff and more traditional playing. try JULLIARD consevatory in New York.
