Yeah, it was clearly stated in the report.

Here comes Kobe's inconsistency. Kobe was first complaining about the lack of support from his teammates and asked and demanded the Lakers to send someone in. The Jermaine O'Neal and Jason Kidd deals foiled and just died down, and it's enough reason for Kobe to continue on complaining, ranting, and whining or better yet get out of LA. Now Kobe's got the chance to play for a legitimate playoffs and a possible title contender with Chicago. And now he wants to play alongside Loul Deng specifically? He's going too far.

If he wants to play for a good or better team compared to the Lakers, Chicago without Deng, Wallace, and Thomas is a good place for him, Kobe can turn a team around by himself. But wanting a single player to play along with him, that's his ego and selfish motives flaring once again. He's got to know his limits.

His attitude might be the one to bring him down and will cut short his career. Latrell Sprewell already took that route.

I would have understood Kobe betterif only he wanted to play alongside Ben Wallace instead of Deng...I think this trade benefits both teams:

Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, Joe Smith + future considerations for Kobe and Kwame Brown

Personally, I want Kobe to stay in LA and see him prove himself without Shaq, and of course with the consideration that the management must be considerate and give him what he needs and deserve, not necessarily what Kobe wants. There are a lot of good players who are interested in playing alongside Kobe.

Hehe. The way I see it, he wants Deng because he wants to have a small forward side kick. Bryant and Deng = Jordan and Pippen. Will he try to bring in Artest or Rasheed Wallace too?

Salary cap problems. Kobe and Kwame alone are already worth approximately $28.4M while Deng and Thomas are just worth $6.8M (still no idea for Smith's salary). For any deal that will send Bryant to Chicago, it should include either Ben Wallace ($15.5M) or Kirk Hinrich ($11M), or better yet, include another team in the deal.

    kobe sucks big time....

well, i understand kobe's situation of retaining deng sa chicago... pero, hindi pa rin masusunod si kobe if team management lang ang hisgutan... alangan ang gusto ni kobe, mao jud tumanon, otherwise arrogant kaayu... i really don't know if he can prove himself if ma-trade siya sa chicago... kay mismo sa lakers, hambog ra ayu ni kobe. he can't really prove himself (er, without shaq). he's just a selfish one-man team player... imagine scoring 35+ points or sometimes mo-abot og 50 points, unya pilde gihapon ang lakers... what does that mean?? just like recent game nila against houston rockets nga kobe scored 45 points, to add insult ila pa jud homecourt, pilde pa jud...

Kobe was doing almost a little bit of everything in their loss against Houston. Bryant had 45 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and a block for the Lakers in a little over 42 minutes. Too bad, aside from Derek Fisher, Kobe never got good games from his teammates. What can Kobe and Fisher do against T-Mac, Yao, Shane Battier, and a couple of Rockets' bench playing well and stepping up their games? Nothing much. Without the support that Kobe has been asking from the Lakers management, his 40, 50, or even 60 point games will always go down to waste because no man can carry his team alone all the time. At least there's no Lamar Odom and Vladamir Radmanovic in that loss.

There's no question about Kobe's game, the problem with him is his attitude and ego.

Tracy McGrady fired 47 points while Mike James continued to be impressive off the bench as the Houston Rockets defeated the Utah Jazz, the team that ousted them in last season's playoffs, 105-96 at Utah. The Rockets overcame the double-double performances of Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, and Mehmet Okur. Williams finished with 18 points and 13 assists, Boozer had team high 30 points and 16 rebounds while Okur finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

On the other game, Tayshaun Prince finished with game high 34 points and 12 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons defeated the short handed Miami Heat 91-80. Starting smaller than the usual, the Pistons started Rasheed Wallace at center. Miami played without Dwyane Wade. ricky Davis led Miami with 23 points while Udonis Haslem had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Shaquille O'Neal was limited to only 9 points and 7 rebounds in less than 30 minutes of action. It was Penny Hardaway's first regular season game after coming out of retirement and he finished with 2 rebounds, 1 assist, with no points scored in 7 and a half minutes of play.

Seattle and Kevin Durant is looking good so far against Phoenix. They lead at 58-55 halftime and Durant had 18 points already. Steve Nash is on his way to another double double with 10 points and 6 assists so far halfway in the game. Phoenix's defense is subpar once again. Earl Watson had 7 assists while the Sonics were allowed to finish with 58 first half points.

Minnesota signs forward Al Jefferson to a $65M deal extension

Though Jefferson's contract is bound to end next season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have already signed him for an extension worth $65M which the 22 year old forward said that he's still "not worthy" of such an amount. According to Jefferson, he still has yet to prove himself to the Timberwolves before they should have given him such a deal. But for Minnesota General Manager Kevin McHale, Jefferson's 17.9 points and 13.4 rebounds per game average in 8 games during the preseason is enough to qualify him for the amount, Minnesota's future looks bright on Jefferson's shoulders. Jefferson is about to receive $13M per season starting next season, a big leap from his $2.48M for the 2007-08 season, the last year he got dating back from his Boston Celtics contract. Jefferson has spent 4 seasons with the Boston Celtics before being shipped to Minnesota in a multi player deal which sent Kevin Garnett to Boston. Because of such deal, Jefferson will eat up more or less 25% of the Timberwolves salary cap for now. The length of the deal is still uncertain.

Minnesota is once again signing a player before he can prove himself, sounds like the KG $125M deal before Garnett turned out to be a superstar. According to McHale, 85% of the guys in the NBA feel and think that they deserve a maximum contract, Jefferson is among the 15% who thinks humbly about himself and his skills. With such an attitude and skill, Minnesota definitely is going in the right direction with Jefferson.

    Phoenix 106, Seattle 99

The Phoenix Suns spoiled Kevin Durant's second NBA regular season game as they denied the prized rookie for his first NBA win by beating the Seattle Super Sonics 106-99. Amare Stoudemire, Steve Nash, and Shawn Marion all had double-double performances. Stoudemire finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, Marion with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Nash had 18 points and 12 assists along with 7 rebounds in a total all-around game. Kevin Durant scored 27 points for Seattle while Chris Wilcox had 23 points and 11 rebounds. Grant Hill finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for Phoenix who finished the game with a total of 31 assists.
