Hi guys - pls answer in english as I am a foreigner.

As I did shotokan in germany 25 years ago for 3 years - but after moving to Cebu I now like to start again. Im getting 51 in June and Im quite ok to do it. For me first comes the gymnastic and excersize that karate gives plus the added self defense later when I can do it *hehe

My searching brought me to Cebu Sports Center first - as this is quit good to access from Inayawan by car where I live - so actually I start as beginner again in the Summer Classes of Sensei Winne Dela Rosa.
Difference for me is now that he is doing Shurin Style but as Im out of training for 25 years that shouldnt do much.

But as I dont really find information on Karate in Cebu on the Internet it is hard to figure out which schools are there, when they have training classes, their costs and so on.

So to all karatekas here pls give your advice and information !

Hello. Sensei Winnie is okay. I trained under him two decades ago (2nd kyu brown belt) ... You can also try and inquire Sensei Rey Vidal, his dojo is teaching Shotokan style.

naa koy kauban under niya. I think it's not shotokan. I think it's Okinawan Shorin-Ryu

For kids, okay man ang okinawa shorin ryu under sensei winnie... dili man kaha pang assassin / MMA inyong purpose, kung background lang sa self defense ug self-discipline / character development... payts ra kaayo. Kung beginner paka then high school or college naka, advice nako ayaw nalang siguro kay murag wala na nabagay...

Sa ako nabantayan sa FB ni sensei rey, sige na sila apil2x ug international karate event, murag maayo pod ilang training.

If pang assassin / hitman inyong gusto makat-onan. you won't learn it in any Karate based discipline / learning.

I am from Inayawan as well. I currently live in lahug though, but I want to go back practicing. I was with Japan Karate before for over a year. I'm eyeing on the Japan Karate in Ramos Cebu as it is just one ride from lahug. CSC is a bit crowded for me.

I might visit the Dojo in Ramos this week, i'll update you.
