BBM for president, but I don't think I will both Sara Duterte for vp.
How come no presidential candidate in the Philippines ever campaigned on lower taxes and less burdensome regulations? How come it's always a promise of freebies for the huge non-productive sectors of society? Don't they understand how socialism destroys an economy?
Everyone should not passionately idolize or defend a candidate. They're all playing you for fools. These are career politicians who never held a proper job in their lives, and yet you count on them to understand the problems of ordinary civilians?!
Pacquiao does advocate for lowering of taxes. https://www.philstar.com/headlines/2...n-tax-revenues
Pacquiao making a lot of sense. Giving your money to someone else in terms of taxes (government) or promise of great profits (scammers) is saying: "Here, take my money. I believe you can handle my money better than myself." But everyone should ask themselves: Who looks out for your own interest? That's right: YOU! A little taxation (like in Singapore or HK...top tax rate 17%) is necessary, but big taxation is THEFT.
A few days ago, news came out that Joey Salceda, a Duterte ally, endorsed Leni Robredo. His reasoning goes like this: The government has incurred a huge debt from "fighting" Covid-19 and the bill will come due; we therefore need the next president who will ask people to tighten their belts once again for another round of austerity measures (i.e. more taxes, more fees).
Like I said before, they (career politicians) are all playing us for fools. They have "rules for thee but not for me." These people party their hearts out while telling everyone to lock down. These people tell you to tighten your belts while they borrow large sums of money to purchase grotesquely overpriced things during Covid. WHY MUST THEIR IRRESPONSIBILITY BECOME YOUR RESPONSIBILITY? And yet, with one nice-sounding statement like "magtutulungan tayong lahat," everyone gets fooled time and time again.
No, Joey, let those who squandered our money pay for it.
