Wtf.. I think I'll be converting all my 16-bit flac into abr 2-pass AAC. The difference in file size is around 40%,
that translates into squeezing out ~350gb more from my 1Tb worth of music library!! No perceptible audio
deterioration not even through my Sundara cans. It's 2020 people! Every peso is worth saving now.

I'm keeping my vinyl & sacd rips untouched though.

So far, I've converted 9 albums already via foobar using Nero codec and
the result has been excellent. There's no turning back now.

    Nyohohoho.

Even their entry level tweeters are so high quality. I mean.. the touch, the removable thin foam under the faceplate, the weight, the fit and finish of the steel surround and the white/chrome metal grille. Absolutely remarkable. They even included extra Hex screws just in case buyer wants to be fancy. The magnet is a quarter inch larger than most domes and heavier (957g apiece). Of course, I also have to widen the stock cut-out of the speaker box intended for these.

All the dome tweeters I've had are now lousy compared to these pure Nipponsei items. I'm saving up for a pair of Fostex full range drivers — the mid-level ones. I know it's going to be worth it. Going to dust off my table saw and start planning for a TL enclosure.

These tweeters are already replacing the Yamaha domes I've melted (forgot to lower gain during sweep) and as per my ears... the sound that comes out is already an upgrade, albeit small, even though I haven't adjusted the xover. Almost ruler flat on-axis FR from 3.7k to 19.4k by my own measurements and that's impressive enough for me. Nice sounding upper registers and together with the Yamaha woofers, the timbre and tonality are quite a good match. To be fair, the Yamaha metal domes aren't bad, just average just like other mass produced hifi brands using metal domes. The Yammy woofers though are great because of its graceful roll-off from 4k.

I expect the impulse response won't be that pretty since I'm still using the stock 1st-order xover but I'm very much satisfied sq-wise, so there's that. I still plan to configure it in the following weeks using air coil inductors or maybe just adding an L-pad and a fuse. Also, I tried hooking it up to my SET Elekit tu-8100 and it's heavenly.
