15 persons complain vs firm behind paid-to-click ad scheme

FIFTEEN persons complained before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 yesterday morning against a company that runs a paid-to-click (PTC) program in the Internet.

They said AdsZens Broker Corp. allegedly failed to pay them for participating in its PTC program.

In a PTC program, a user is promised earnings by clicking or viewing an advertisement posted on a website.

One of the complainants, Dylan (not his real name), said he used his savings to buy 22 accounts from the company for P33,000 last Sept. 22.

The 32-year-old hotel personnel said each account contains 10 advertisements that he was told to click so he can earn money. He was promised P825 every month for one account. He said he was supposed to collect P18,150.

When AdsZens officials learned that they went to the NBI 7, he said, he and his fellow complainants received text messages informing them they will get paid yesterday.

“We will continue with our complaint until we seek justice,” he said.

The firm has more than 900 members in Cebu, according to another victim, Manny, who invested P18,500.

Last November, ABS-CBN reported that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) included AdsZens on the list of companies that did not have Securities Exchange Commission licenses to sell securities.

Complainant JR Obaob, 24, said he only invested P9,000, but this was hard-earned money.

“Gihadlok mi nga di mabayran kon moreklamo (They threatened not to pay us if we complain),” he said.

He said AdsZens have not paid its investors since October. They found out last December that the firm’s office on F. Ramos St., Cebu City was closed.

Rolly Lupian, an engineer, said he wanted to get back his investment of P80,000 from the company, which he described as “mysterious.”

Dylan said he was convinced to invest in AdsZens after his brother profited from the scheme.

He said investors were also promised free products, like coffee and soap, but they never got any.

That may be true, but don't skip tough stuff. Learning the trading system, developing a knack for trends, finding mentors, etc. etc.

At age 22 I got a good spanking. Makes me proud of my ignorant self 6 years ago lol

Is it possible to edit the title on this thread? It would be "Lessons learned from my first and only 'networking' endeavor."
