Hard Drive Slow Down

Have you guys experienced this? My OS drive is really slow, at first I though it was the Hard drive itself so I replaced it with a new one. Still the the same.

Symptoms:
1.) Slow boot uo when loading windows
2.) Windows start up audio stutters as if in slow motion
3.) Copying files from OS drive to other hds with in the PC is really slow
4.) Playing video files has a lot of lag in it.

PC is fresh installed, so its clean.

Check out HD tach results on 2 hard drives both on the same PC.

Kinda fixed it just now, by rearranging the sata cables. Somehow it refreshed the way windows detected it and seems to be working alright. I googled it and found that there are quite a few people who have tried this, apparently, its a windows issue.

Its a symptom also when page file is fragmented, and the whole drive or the system partition is heavily fragmented. I experienced it many times.

But in yours, its quite rare.

These are sata devices by the way.

pero na check sad nmu sa device manager ang primary and secondary IDE channel kng nka PIO mode sila? kay kasuway ko ani nga symptoms sanguna, puro sad SATA HDs ako -slow transfer rate, and audio stuttering. nka PIO mode diay ang sa IDE devices, ge set balik to DMA mode...solved. dunno if it's exact case with yours. pro check lng.

Ang naka connect sa akong IDE kay CDROMs ra. Although, you have a very good point because sata is in IDE mode unless they are in raid setup. So I checked it and yes naka ultra DMA5 cya. But if mubalik ang problem I will check it again.

what board you using Ry? Maybe something to do sa SATA-I or II slots.

Im using me Asus p5B deluxe with recently update Bios. Well, so far, under observation sa ni. Called my supplier and told them about it, naka experience sad daw sila ani but ingun sila ila lang daw gi limpyuhan ang Sata port ni ok na daw, hehehehe. Well as for me, didnt clean it, gi bali bali lang nako nya na ok naman ;-D
