Hi Istoryans,

We would like to share another project of ours that can hopefully help the small local businessmen from balut vendors, tempura/fishball vendors, fruitstand, etc.
Introducing... TinderoFinder



Idea is the website will help people craving for certain food (streetfood, fruits, vegetables, etc) and will provide a way to easily locate the nearest tindero using Google Maps.
In effect, small time tinderos will have more visibility and help increase their sales and improve their livelihood.

How it works? How can you help?
1. Just go to Tindero Finder
2. You will be presented with a map.
3. You can suggest the location of a balut tindero by specifying the location on the map.
4. When you submit, we will then review and approve the location.
5. When you submission is approved, it will then show up on the map for other people (craving for balut) to see.

We will start with balut vendors for now, and later on add siomai vendors, fruit stand, fishball, etc.
We would like everybody and we will greatly appreciate it, to contribute and help this platform a useful tool for everybody.

One of our mission and advocacy is to help empower the small local tinderos.
Hope you share the same vision too.

i agree the availability of vendors vary and it was indeed part of our discussion if we should include an "hours open" info.
however, we decided to make it as simple as possible for now, and hopefully in the near future, we will add more features and info like a ratings/review function.

you can't bro.
Google Maps don't have balut vendors, tempura vendors, fishball vendors, kwek2x vendors, or markers para sa mga gagmayn'g tinderos which can also include tindero ug prutas, utanon, etc.
that is the objective of this app - putting the small tinderos on the map, increase their visibility, and help their livelihood.

yep. definitely - pwede man ka mubutang ug bisan unsang business or location marker sa Google Maps. anybody can do it.
however, they need to be reviewed by Google before the show up in Google Maps, and most of the time - it can take weeks or even months before they get approved or rejected.
worse, i don't think Google accepts location markers for small or micro businesses.
we have been submitting to Google Maps locations for large businesses e.g. resorts, restos, etc - but they even get rejected for whatever reason. how much more for small businesses.

so this web app will try to address that gap and put the small tinderos on the map.

not necessarily ambulant vendors. ideally, tinderos that we'll be adding to the Tindero Finder map are those tinderos nga naa nay pwesto e.g. balut vendor sa imong eskina nga maninda kada gabii.

although one of the plans in the future is give selected tinderos with a device that tracks their location and they will show on the map kahit mobile sila (ala Grab pero walay booking) but that is thinking too far ahead.
