Padayon sa verse 4-5. Context lage. How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite,
first take the plank out of your own eye, and
then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Jesus is teaching HOW we should judge. Wa nay sense ang 4-5 if di man gani ta mo judge. Unsaon man nato na pagtuman? Wa jud nimo gi address, cge lang ako gatubag diri.
John 12:30-32
30 Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. 31"Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32"And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.
wa man ni labot sa church discipline.
Corinthians 4:2-4
2 In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy. 3But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself. 4For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord.…
Mao nga sa v.1 sa Ch.4 ingon siya This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. Unsa iyang ipasabot? sa v.2 niingon si Pablo "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. Nga dapat matinud-anon ang usa ka alagad. Sa unsang paagi man mahibaw-an? through scrutiny/thorough investigation mao nay pasabot sa Greek word na gitranslate sa English as "found" or "prove". Dapat masuta jud kon matinud-anon ba jud sya ug way binuang niya. Sa v.3-4 ingon si Pablo I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Ingon si Pablo "wa koy paki kon pagtan-aw ninyo wa ko kapasar sa inyong standard isip apostol. I'm accountable to God and my conscience is clear wa ko nagbinuang". This is in relation sa previous chapter about sa work sa mga "workers" e.i apostles/preachers/teachers/elders na one day their works will be tested if masunog ba or dili. In that sense way tao nga makahukom ana kay matud pang Pablo sa v.5 nga He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. So mao na sya bai. Paul is not teaching there to not judge between right or wrong or against church discipline but against a type of judgment na gi reserve para sa Ginoo.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Wa sad ni kalabotan sa church discipline.
I could not see any that justify that we should judge,
Coz you're not looking at the right places and you're dodging my questions that could've helped you see the answer.
iyag-yag kuno nan'ng imong nahibaloan atong tan-awon.
you're playing with words will never work with me, ayaw ug hugaw-hugawi ang bibliya doh.
Gabaan baya ka ana.
I'm not playing with words. It's the context that determines the meaning and not the words per se and this is true sa Greek words na daghan ang meaning like the word that is translated as "judgment" in English. This is true to the English language as well.
1.) Unsaon nato pagtuman sa Jn.7:24 if we are not going to judge?
2.) 1 Cor.5:12-13, Paul is telling the Corinthians that we(Christians) have no business judging the unbelievers but we are to judge those who are in the church and expel the unrepentant person from the fellowship. How are we going to follow this instruction if we are not to judge?
3.) Mat.7:15 Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. How are we going to know who are these wolves in sheep's clothing without judging them to be wolves?
