DDR4 bro. dli sha dako jd kaayug difference pero much better. 8GB lang sa gd sakto naman na basta d ka magrender ug videos nya invest ug GPU. para pd mafuture proof imong build kay d baya tanan mobo support ug ddr3 so if mag upgrade ka daghan ilisanan. pero ikaw bro, igo2.a lang hehe

^ 8 GB system ram is ok as long as you will not play BF1... mang lamoy ni'g system mem ang BF1...

as long as your GPU and CPU is fast enough to play Crysis... a 8GB system ram is good to go... dili man ni system mem hog ang Crysis... but, it will need a good GPU (powerful GPU, the better) and para ma unleash ang full power sa GPU, it needs a fast "true" quad core CPU labi na mag duwa ta'g Crysis 3 online on maximum players...

I played these first person shooter gaming titles online (and I preferred max players per map)... Crysis (all series), FarCry 3, BF1, BF2, BF3 & BF4...

kani lang gyud BF1... bati kun 8 GB ra ang atoang system mem... need gyud ta na mag 16 GB system mem aning BF1... hahays...

by the way, all my PCs are still on DD3... 8GB to 16 GB system ram... from single to dual GPU (SLI and Crossfire) configurations...

    hahaha now I know
    I am no tekkie
so maglisod tawn kog pangagpas sa inyong storya
pc sa ako anak kay 8GB RAM and I thot sakto nah, nya cge man ghpaon siya reklamo
he plays the BF series, mao diay ahak tigom na pud diay ta ani

salamat sa inyo share nga information

aside from speed and latency..one thing pd sa DDR4 ky mas mka save ka ug voltage compare sa ddr3 IIRC..

unsa man ang CPU gani sa rig sa imohang anak ug unsa pug ang GPU?

BF2, BF3 & BF4, ok ra man ang 8GB system ram... and a mid level gaming GPU like the GTX 750 Ti and AMD's equivalent... samot na ang mga new offerings sa AMD ug Nvidia na mga GPUs intended for gaming... ok kayo for a 1080p gaming resolution.

but, kun mga BF1 na gani, aw, 8GB system ram kay bitin kayo. dako ang fps drop sa BF1. this game really need a 16 GB system ram to have an enjoyable gaming experience...

entry level gaming GPUs, dial down lang ta'g GFX quality preset nya para nice ang fps. kun gusto ta'g maxed out ang GFX quality present aning BF1 on a 1080p resolution, aw, need ta'g RX-580 and GTX 1060... higher GPU models are better and a "true" quadcore CPU... higher resolution needs a higher HW config (this is given)...

ako, personally, gamay kayo ning difference sa power consumption sa DDR3 & DDR4... dili maka tarog... hehehe... pero, kun mag palit or DIY ug new rig, get the latest tech... based on DDR4...

sa mga inot (daginot) like me, the DDR3 platform is still very3x playable in today's gaming titles... depende lang gyud sa CPU, GPU ug system mem ug ang gaming title itself na duwa-on...

usa ni na rason na hangtod karon, wla pa ko naka kita'g justification to upgrade the platforms of all of my PCs. puro pa ni sila on DDR3 platforms... both AMD and Intel CPUs...

Not really a ddr3 vs ddr4 video but this shows how ram frequencies affect gaming.

I also have 2 systems with both 8gb ram. Only time I placed more is when I played Batman Arkham Knight.

But back to TS's original question. I don't think you have an option also if your motherboard only supports ddr3 or ddr4.

^ dili kayo mo matter ang ram speed kun dili mo support ug high ram frequencies ang CPU.

even ang mga gipang OC ka CPU... dili man dako kayo ug fps difference (just like sa video). my statement is true on real world use pero kun mag benchmark aw, pwerteng dako'ag number sa naka OC na ram per se... this statement of mine is based on my main gaming rig... naka OC sya ug 4.8 GHz (i5-2550K) then ang ram kay naka OC ug 2400 MHz (Kingston Beast 1600 MHz DDR3 @ stock)...

sa current AMD CPU (Ryzen), beneficial nya ang higher frequency rams... sa actual gaming fps, negligible ra gyud ni sila... dili man siguro maka abot ug 20 fps ang "consistent" difference on all gaming titles sa normal speed ram vs. a higher speed ram. naa ra sa 5 fps average (give and take) or less siguro ang average fps difference... this 5 fps difference is is negligible in real world use but kun mag benchmark, aw, mas inferior man tan-awon kun ubos atoang value na makuha... benchmarking, the higher the better...

then sa actual gaming, taas man kayo ang fps sa rig, na, dili mo matter ang difference bisan 20 fps pa na...

price wise, sakit kaayo's bulsa ang mga higher frequency ram modules...

on benchmarks noticeable jud iya difference but in real world scenario, ambot lng kong ma.notice ba nimo. even full-hd against 4k ky dli nmo dayon makit.an ang deperensya nila ky almost the same ra. same rana sa ram. Ang pangutana dha kng imong system mu.support ba ani nga generation standard.

example if you are planning to build from broadwell chips and below, imong way to go is DDR3, if start ka from skylake and above DDR4 nka while nkagka.taas ang specs sa imo CPU, magkataas sa na ang specs sa support sa imohang motherboard.

pero kng mag latest gen nka nga CPU like sa current 7th gen intel aw no other route nka, DDR4 ra. ang concern nlng sad nimo ana kay kng unsa clock rate sa imong ram and if that clock rate is supported ba sa imong motherboard
