There will come a time for reckoning aning NPA.. Ang nakalisod lang gyud ani nila kay they have penetrated to the very fibre of the system. Maong lisod kaayo nimo ni silang i all-out-war.

Marcos did it, and he failed miserably. I think one effective way really is just to talk and ultimately development, and easing poverty to these regions, para wala nay ganahan or wala nay ma recruit ning mga tawhana. Kay pulos na nanarbaho para mabuhi ilang family.

True boss and i think that's when we should start to end violence and provide more jobs/opportunity. I think it's one of the biggest point nga namiss nato. Sigi lang patay ang naa sa huna2 "hutdon tanang adik/pusher/druglord, hutdon tanang rebelde, etc" para mapeaceful daw. But what's really on the bigger picture? If there were better opportunities para sa mga "adik", i think they will take it. Maybe not all of them but i'm sure naa juy mograb sa chance.

Super nihit ang opportunities sa Pinas. Even applying for a job in fastfood chains need a fvcking diploma, no piercings, no tattoos, etc. The standards/requirements are just ridiculous. I mean come on, what's wrong with piercings and tattoos? That's just an example boss.

And there should be some free medical centers para makakuha pd sa requirements ang mga applicante nga way kwarta. If naa man gani, mga way lami. The discrimination in our country is just outrageous.

It's easy for us to say nga everything we do in life is a choice but trust me, some people just don't get to choose tungod sa kapobre. Been there, done that.

If you look in the bigger picture or the true result and not on Duterte's mouth, I say they have already been given enough opportunity by given a chance to surrender. It's true we have so little opportunity base on employment, that will obviously be on the next step of the government but 1st we have to face the current problem which is our drug infested country. Sadly, crime is always related to poverty so violence is mostly exist on the poor people and places.

    January 2017 statistics

According to the information bulletin released by the police, the government has conducted 40,982 anti-drug operations from July 1 last year to January 7 this year. The police killed 2,206 drug personalities during this period while 44,070 were arrested.

The police also visited 6,097,672 houses as part of its “Project Tokhang,” which involves police officers going around communities across the country in order to persuade suspected drug users to submit themselves to a drug rehabilitation program.

The police reported too that 1,020,244 people surrendered to authorities in the past six months. More than 940,000 of those who surrendered are drug users while about 75,000 are pushers.

The police also acknowledged that 4,049 suspected drug personalities were victims of vigilante-style killings. This is the most controversial feature of the anti-drug campaign, which is described by human rights groups as a clear case of unabated extrajudicial killings involving state forces. The police, however, blamed the surge of violence on the purging activities of rival drug cartels.

    0.002% Killed by Police operations
0.004% Percent Vigilante style killings (Maybe from corrupted police or drug syndicates)
Yes it is still alarming but it's very little if you compare it to number of drug users and pusher currently in the country .

    Lols.

"given enough opportunity by given a chance to surrender" and then what's after this boss? What are they gonna do? They will wait for the government to discard our country's discrimination para makapangita na sila ug trabaho? Kanus.a man na mahitabo? Sure, drugs is one of our biggest problem but if we start on giving them better opportunities instead of giving them an ultimatum (surrender or die), you think they won't take the better opportunity? It's just a bit unfair nga we only offer them to surrender or get killed. Again, yes, it's one of our biggest problem but i still think that the way to solve it is to know what's really behind all of it. And IMO, what's behind all of it is the lack of opportunity and education. I mentioned education because i think our drug problem is somehow related sa atong educational standards pd. If people will be more educated, then i guess they will be aware sa effects on drugs which could lead them to decide nga dli mogamit.

war on drugs.. hmmm. its about time to think out of the box approaches. arrest, raids and everything by the book , do have positive outcomes but seems not enough.

Where did you get this idea though?
So let's say we have 4 million drug users last year, So the police are already on the hunt of the 3 million who did not surrender. Shoot to kill? I think if mka hatag gyud sila ug opportunities para nila ky offer gyud na nila, unsaon taman bisan ug mga maauhon na mga tao nga wla ga drugs pero unemployed ghapon or even like the street vendors, farmers and fishermens etc. lisud ra gyud ghapon mka sustento sa adlaw2 nga needs and sila may 1st i prioritize before nila. I agree on education part that is there next target if i recall clearly after the balance distribution of economy. Mao tong g raise nila ang salaries sa teachers, mas maau gani if naay trabaho unya mka educate/study pd ka in parallel, kung edukado ang usa ka tao mka reform gyud siya ug attitude towards society.
