He was just atrocious. His firing is not just about one move.

Let me list down the head scratching moves Phil made as an exectuive in NY.

    1. He traded away Tyson Chandler for nothing. Chandler was their locker room leader, defensive anchor and he could at least gotten a lot more for him.

    2. Hiring Derek Fisher. No prior coaching experience whatsoever.

    3. Trading for Derrick Rose. He traded away Lopez,Calderon and Grant for an oft injured point guard who's not a fit for the triangle and whose gameplay doesnt fit with Porzingis and Melo.

    4. He traded J.R. Smith and Shumpert for basically nothing.

    5. He signed an oft injured and clearly out of his prime Joakim Noah to a 4 year 72 million contract. The worst contract in the NBA right now.

    6. Giving Carmelo Anthony a no-trade clause and then alienating him later by saying that Melo would be better off playing for another team. Essentially bringing Melo's trade value down.

    7. Alienating the face of the Knicks franchise Kristaps Porzingis by stating publicly that he was entertaining trade offers for him.

Phil Jackson had it coming. He should've been canned a long time ago. Blame also goes to James Dolan for not firing Phil earlier. Phil Jackson arguably is the greatest coach of all time but BOY OH BOY he is also one of the worst executives of all time.

I still love me some Phil Jackson but IMO he should just retire and stay retired before he tarnishes his legacy even more.
that's why i did not said he was a great team president... he surely has committed mistakes... pero ang main reason ngano gi-fire siya karon is because he wants to buyout Carmelo Anthony... which i think is a good move. karon nga gi-fire si phil, Carmelo will stay with the knicks, and it also serves as a warning sa mopuli ni phil, nga kung imong hilabtan si Carmelo, ikaw ang sunod... which is counterproductive in my opinion...

The problem with saying that Phil was not a great executive is that you can say he is just a good or a decent executive.

Phil Jackson was not even a mediocre executive. He is probably one of the worst President/GM iv'e ever seen along with Isiah Thomas.

I disagree with the Melo buyout thing. It doesnt mean that if imong hilabtan si Melo ma fire sad ka. Buying out Melo just doesnt make any sense. Why would you buy out someone who still has 2 years left in his contract? If hilabtan si Melo, the sensible thing to do is try to convince him to waive his no trade clause and at least get something back for him.

As much as I love Phil Jackson,I dont want to sugarcoat it. He is just a terrible executive. Its just mistakes after mistakes after mistakes.

Yes he made a great move by drafting Porzingis but he totally alienated him by publicly saying he is entertaining trade offers for him.

bringing melo back to the knicks would only eat up minutes and experience to the young players. parehas ra na sa katong naa pa si kobe sa lakers. walay nakat-onan ang mga young players, kay ang mahitabo, just give si kobe ra padula-on pirmi... one of the reasons ngano na-delay ang development ni D'angelo sa lakers, is because of kobe's last year.

if you consider phil as the worst president sa knicks, then you should also consider, nga mas worst pa si james dolan as the owner. ngano iya man gi-extend si phil sa iyang contract just to fire him just 3 days before free agency... mas stupid pa na nga move.

The thing is, they dont have much of a choice. The only way they can get rid of Melo is through a buy out or through a trade which cant happen without Melo's consent so yeah they are stuck with Melo pretty much.

As for James Dolan, yeah Its been public knowledge for a long time now. He is one of the worst owners in the NBA. Not worse than Sterling though. ghehehehe

OT na kaayo ta... hehehe! anyway, ingon si magic, dili kuno active ang lakers sa free agency sugod july 1... pero lakers will be looking to add a player to fit the team... most likely a shooter. kinsa mga available shooters karon nga free agency inyo gusto?

sa akong hunahuna, si JJ Riddick unta to, pero murag mahal ra tingali siya. basin kinahanglan sad ug shooter nga point guard, kay puli ni lonzo...

i dont want us to sign big names or go after big names that wont do us good long term, i like what they're doing right now patient and steady. if makita nila sila what lonzo can bring to the table, im pretty sure they will sign here. i hope this year will be a different year for us. 30+ wins would be awesome and a rookie of the year for our boy lonzo.

dako ug chance nga mo-daog si lonzo sa ROY pero dili ko sure makaabot sila ug 30+ wins... naay bag-ong rumor, nga lakers are inclined to sign tyler ennis basin for one year or 2 with team option sa 2nd year.

i like ennis as our back up pg, young and hardworker. nindot syag performance before nag end ang season, he showed us what he can do. him, nwaba and trob are good back ups, ganahan ko sa ilang chemistry. sapot gani ko nila ato kay they played hard the main factors nadaog tag 5 consecutive wins lol
