akong hunahuna, mohilom ra na si lavar kung maayo ang performance ni lonzo... wala man mopalit sa ilang products kung hilom siya, kay wala pa man nagsugod ang season...

I honestly think its the other way around. If Lonzo is great, Lavar Ball is going SuperNOVA.

If, God Forbid, Lonzo sucks then Lavar will shut up bec. nobody would listen to him anymore.

The obvious downside would be that Lonzo will have a BIG TARGET on his back.

Players will obviously get up and play against Lonzo 110% bec. of his daddy's loudmouth.

I have no problem if phil comes back to the lakers in an advisory role... bisag mo-advise lang siya sa coaching, not necessarily strategy, but things about building team chemistry, or activities that help players be more focus. I think that was one of phil's strength as a coach, he was able to make his players focus on the game, and play with great chemistry.

with regards to what happened in new York, I don't think firing phil Jackson made their franchise better. of course, phil may not have done a great job as team president, however... kung gi-fire siya tungod kay gusto niya i-buyout si Carmelo, then James Dolan is wrong. the right thing to do at least in new York is to buyout Carmelo Anthony. so that the young players will be given more opportunity to develop. phil drafted good NBA players... in fact he drafted a unicorn in porzingis. i believe that his insistence on the triangle is part of what he promised james dolan to do... he believes in it, and they could have agreed to not insist on it in the first place. the main problem in new York is that James Dolan Jr. always meddle with basketball decisions... this time around phil is the casualty.

Phil Jackson not doing a great job as team president is an understatement.

He was just atrocious. His firing is not just about one move.

Let me list down the head scratching moves Phil made as an exectuive in NY.

    1. He traded away Tyson Chandler for nothing. Chandler was their locker room leader, defensive anchor and he could at least gotten a lot more for him.

    2. Hiring Derek Fisher. No prior coaching experience whatsoever.

    3. Trading for Derrick Rose. He traded away Lopez,Calderon and Grant for an oft injured point guard who's not a fit for the triangle and whose gameplay doesnt fit with Porzingis and Melo.

    4. He traded J.R. Smith and Shumpert for basically nothing.

    5. He signed an oft injured and clearly out of his prime Joakim Noah to a 4 year 72 million contract. The worst contract in the NBA right now.

    6. Giving Carmelo Anthony a no-trade clause and then alienating him later by saying that Melo would be better off playing for another team. Essentially bringing Melo's trade value down.

    7. Alienating the face of the Knicks franchise Kristaps Porzingis by stating publicly that he was entertaining trade offers for him.

Phil Jackson had it coming. He should've been canned a long time ago. Blame also goes to James Dolan for not firing Phil earlier. Phil Jackson arguably is the greatest coach of all time but BOY OH BOY he is also one of the worst executives of all time.

I still love me some Phil Jackson but IMO he should just retire and stay retired before he tarnishes his legacy even more.
