i would really appreciate it if laing nationalities ang maka-recognize ni pdut and vote for him in that trifling poll. but putting him on a spot nga kita-kita ray ga-unay ug botar para niya? don't you think it's embarrassing?

We may be falling into a trap.
^^
The way I see it, its also a trap for TIME mag. Because they are doing a popularity poll for the 100 most influential people in the world. That means whoever is on the list is INFLUENTIAL AND POPULAR ENOUGH to have people voting for him or her.
So if they write an unflattering piece on ANY of their Top 100 Most Influential People, it negates their popularity poll of the most influential people.
When and where and how and why would an ass of a hole be influential and popular enough to have real people voting for him or her?
And if they say 'bots' were used to 'influence' their popularity poll, means TIME is ok with 'bots' (maybe to get the numbers up?) And their system especially in polls is compromised, IT dept could be not doing its job of weeding out bots.
Also if they say in their articles for Top 100 Influencers, the people are like sheeps or are paid to like ANY of the Top 100 Influencers, then they are shooting their buyers and potential buyers in the head.
Who'd want to buy magazines from publications that treat you like you have no brain and are minions or something? TIME buyers have discerning tastes, right? But then I supposed, the buyers don't have time to spare for polls, even if its a TIME poll.
In a way, the credibility of the mag and for that matter, any future TIME poll becomes questionable.
Unless of course, they have a more influential stockholder 'whelping' THEM as an organization and as a mag. Who cares about the Top 100?

The point is the top 100 is aim on positive most influential people in the world, since it will turn the tide for DU30 if he wins that is a upper cut blow to the NYT jaw.
How would you want to see other news publishing. NYT who's been a long accuser of President Duterte, Got positive result in public voting in Time 100. We cann't just sit back and do nothing, we need to encourage other mags to spread the dirty interest. We need other strategy, and a US republican party supporter magazine should work well.

No.1 na si digong.
Well for us duterte is a god send. However, what that TIME poll proves is Filipinos are one of the highest consumers of information in any form be it social media, mainstream news, propaganda. You should also consider the fact that there are some people who do not have English as the native language, who do not know of TIME magazine, who are not familiar with duterte.
Sure he can win the poll, but it simply means more filipinos know or even bother to notice TIME compared to other people who may have better things to do. If TIME did this again to become relevant in the age of digital media where paper based media is going away, TIME does have a way of making itself useful every now and then. In the end the value proposition goes to TIME, not to those people who vote for polls such as this.
