best place to study Computer Science here in Cebu

This thread is really old. I started it in the year 2005. A lot has happened since then.

I didn't anymore pursue CS studies (though I want to pursue a Master's in CS someday when time allows). I did freelance work since 2008 and eventually my portfolio and past projects proved that I was qualified enough to work with IT companies. It turns out, most IT companies put more weight in the quality of your projects than on your school degree/grades.

I'm now working fulltime for a Swiss Aeronautics software company and part-time for a US web development company.

For the sake of those who are asking the same question as this thread, the only schools awarded with Center of Excellence (COE) in Information Technology here in Cebu are UP-Cebu and CIT-U. Outside Cebu, you have Up-Los Baños, Up-Diliman, Ateneo, De La Salle and three other schools. There's only a total of 9 schools in the Philippines with this award/recognition by CHED. You can do the research yourself. If you want to study BSCS/BSIT nga around the same level as with those schools in Luzon, then I recommend you these two schools in Cebu.

Ang USJ-R kay Center of Development (COD) in IT. Nindot pud sa USC-TC. They also have good facilities there.
