PH debt balloons to P6 trillion as of September

THE Philippine government's debt rose to P6.087 trillion as of end-September due to the depreciation of the peso against the US dollar, the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) said.

The September debt level was 1.8 percent or P106.65 billion higher from August level. Year-to-date, the government debt has increased by P132.14 billion or 2.2 percent.

The government's domestic debt amounted to P3.904 trillion, a P20.75 billion or 0.5 percent increment from the previous month.
