hi guys! is there an ENT in lapu-lapu city? Thanks.
Thanks po. Had inquired through a friend...maybe i'll visit the hospital.
I suggest Dr. Rivera. I just remembered him when I was browsing this thread. He's good and klaro kaayo naniguwang na siya sa iya gibuhat as an ENT specialist. But even if he's old na, maayo pa iyang lihok and you can see sa iya clinic nga he kept up to date with the trend.
I'm not from cebu but when I went to cduh for my tonsilitis, they gave me a list of ent specialist both cduh and chong hua. Mura kog nagpili ug value meal sa jollibee when i was picking one and wala ra sad ko nag mahay niya. Recurrent ako tonsilitis like pag visit nako niya 3rd week na ako tonsilitis and the previous 2 weeks kay nag antibiotic ko ana, different ang 1st and 2nd week. And when I visited him iya nalang ko gitagaan ug kusog jud na antibiotic. And the week after kay nawala ra.
He suggested jud na i tonsilectomy na ko kay since bata pa man ni ako tonsilitis but katong pag visit nako niya kay mao to pinaka worst. He was so dedicated jud he said he can perform the surgery pagka ugma dayon. But no money man. I am a medical student and I really agree with his decisions and suggestions nako. Dugay na ko nagpa tonsilectomy if ony we have the money.
Mubalik na sad ko niya kay akong larynx nasad ipa check. Hopefully di ra lain ang diagnosis. 😢
Kinsa kaila nyo doctor ng ENT. Kanang maayo at dili ahente ng tambal.
My son was was initially diagnosed with Otitis Media by the 1st ENT doctor referred to us in early 2016 . That doctor told us that he will try to put my son under medication for a week and if the condition persists, vent tubes must be inserted on both eardrums. Praise God the medicine worked and the doctor didn't prescribe anything thereafter nor required a follow-up check up.
My son frequently has colds and I have noticed that his sense of hearing is starting to deteriorate. He would ask, "ha?" when you tell or ask him something the first time and family members had to shout sometimes to get his attention. It prompted me to go back to the ENT doctor who immediately told me that vent tubes insertion is necessary because the Otitis Media recurred. When asked how much, he simply said it is quite expensive because at 7, my son has to be fully sedated and the procedure need to be done in the operating room.
Due to lack of financial resources and because I initially felt that my son was too young to undergo an ear operation, my husband and I decided to seek second opinion. A friend referred us to Dr. Rivera of Cebu Doc.
I admire the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. Hassle-free appointments can be made by calling or texting the contact numbers.
I frankly told Dr. Rivera that I was seeking 2nd opinion and he warmly listened to my son's background. He dug through our family history and given that my husband has both allergic rhinitis and sinusitis, he explained that my son's untreated allergic rhinitis is the one that ultimately triggers the ear infection because the fluid reaches the ears. He prescribed a week's worth of antihistamine and antiobiotic and asked us to come back after a 7 days. He also gave me a checklist on the things to do at home to control and avoid trigerring the allergy. Everything went well and he said that moving forward, my son has to regularly take Levocetirizine for his rhinitis. Sadly, 3 weeks from our last visit, we went back for consultation because my son is having colds again even after taking the medicine and after I have accomplished the items on the checklist. Dr. Rivera decided to insert a camera on my son's nose and found out that he has +4.5 grade adenoid which causes my son to snore and contributes to the recurrent Otitis Media. Thus, he said that my son really has to undergo both Adenoidectomy and Vent tubes insertion. Dr. Rivera, acknowledging our financial difficulty, told me to just prioritize the money for the hospital bill. He allowed us to sign a promissory note and pay his PF for a certain period.
Fast forward, my son said that everything is clear now. He doesn't snore anymore and his hearing significantly improved. It was Dr. Rivera who properly diagnosed the health problem of my son from its very root.
I couldn't thank God enough for people like Dr. Rivera who is truly passionate for his craft and really cares for his patients. Without a doubt, I highly recommend him 😊.
