well, to make the story short ... hope you can search it also and share it here
what the apo did is recognize the old kiram as the official sultan... in return the old kiram give to the apo the blessing to pursue the claim via GRP in behalf of the sultanate, this is actually the time nga ni samot ka boak ang house sa kiram mao nga naay faction sa malaysia (this are faction of kiram nga gusto nila under malaysia sila) nag base ug naa sa sulu... since ang gi recognize ra is ang naa sa Sulu...
it was this period that Maj Eduardo Martelino and apo started Operation Merdeka which we all came to know jabidah massacre... it was also this incident why Nur started MNLF... it is said before founding MNLF he was one of the core founder of NDF/CPP together with Joma
to make the story short... the fiasco of OP: Merdeka (thanks to Ninoy for making everything worst pfft!) solidifies malaysia's claim to sabah... though i just heard stories before we already have units inside sabah even before OP: Merdeka and they are still their until now..
malaysia will never give up sabah... thats more realistic than making sabah part of ph... i think the best way for PH to do is support indepence of Sabah from malaysia... coz during the lahad datu conflict... there was a call for independent sabah from malaysia...
if we cant get it, it is might as well help them to become independent from malaysia... it wont be a loss for PH since we have an active commerce between sabah...
FYI: until now we dont have any consular or embasy in sabah...
