i don't know about winter in london, but summer is great. the sun does try to shine (great for tropical island chicks like me). shops and retailers go on sale and a lot of events and activities happen all over the city. bummer lang when in the subway coz the trains can be hot and stuffy.

you can take virgin atlantic airlines and could get as cheap as £250 return off peak from the u.s. but don't shop here coz it's soooo expensive. branded items are like twice the price compared when you shop in america.british people go to the u.s. just to shop coz' it's a lot cheaper...

disagree ako sa uban replies dinhi. IMO, the US pales in comparison with UK in terms of the scenery, quality of life and paycheck  i've only been to london/UK once (last year) so I really can't say kung grabe ang racism. Pero people were so nice to me and very helpful. Yun nga lang, mas feel mo na Asian ka sa europe kaysa sa US kasi sa US very diverse ang race and culture ng mga tao. didto sa london, minority giud tang mga pinoy.

i've been watching samantha brown's passport to europe in the travel channel... london is such a huge city and also one of the most expensive ones along with paris and new york... but, i think it also depends on a person's preferences as a tourist... like me, for instance, im the kind who is not really into shopping, im more into sightseeing... when i went to new york, believe it or not, i only spent about 300-400$ and i visited almost all the tourist attractions..
so for me, as a tourist lang ha, it doesn't really matter if it's an expensive city, not unless you plan to live there... that's another story..
