    radiostar,

You made very good points. This is a very important issue. Have you submitted this to Sun Star? They have a section for people who want to speak out and be heard.

I believe in an ROTC. But I do not believe in the ROTC in the Philippines. Our country has too much corruption, too much selfishness & no national and cultural pride.

If they can manage to upgrade the ROTC program and make sure that there is no abuse of power or personal interests by its officers, then it's worthwhile. Though honestly, I don't see how the government can manage this. They can't even manage their own business the right way.

IVe been an officer of ROTC when I was in college sa San Jose, grabe kaau ang body contact didto. Naa one time during my 4th class nag underwear lang mi unya gikaliguan mi ug tubig naa sili. Then ang nahitabo what you have experience during your time ,himoon sad nimo sa sub-ordinate nimo. May future pa.

If implemented well, ROTC is what is best. Like everything else, there are bad points and good points. But I feel it is much better than going out doing fake community services just to pass. I too used to be an officer at USJR, but during our time gone were the hazing and noted abuses of the previous batches. What I would want to happen though is make ROTC tilt the balance between psychological training and physical training to favor more of a psychological training and lesser of a physical training. It helps if the institution can instill discipline on the students if the parents can't.

It also prepares a student on the concept of chain of command/leadership hierarchy. Kasagaran karon, when a person goes to work and doesn't understand the concept... kasab-an gamay, tandog dayon ang garbo, muhawa, ngita ug lain. That kind of attitude is bad for the company that you work for, but it is even worse for you.

i think most students will oppose this bill. ROTC is such a good place to gain self discipline but unfortunately student doesnt like it. Well we can't blame them to oppossed this one for experiencing too much under the heat of the sun and waking up early on weekend.

looking back gani sa akong experience sa ROTC kay makaingon gani ko nga "ROTC made me the man i am today"

It only shows how dumb this school owner/lawmaker is and how he end up leaving a legacy of transforming colleges into dumbsville.

As an educator, Gullas should have known that too much quality time have been misused already for useless Filipino and PE subjects.

Contrary to what Lytslpr said, we are not a playstation generation. Most students nowadays (labi na diha sa UV nga gipanag-iya ni Gullas ug akong pinalangga nga alma mater) are call-center part-timers working their butts out on spare time just to defray their tuition.

There’s no more room for ROTC inanities in these desperate times. Too much resources had been robbed from the students, dili lang unta apilon ang oras sa pagtuon.

I dont think we can gain something mental or psychological by holding fake rifles and military haberdasheries or doing simplistic drills. we can have that by playing ball games or strategy games
