I have an old MSI R6870, I only play Dota 2 and some BF4, 2 weeks ago since now nagsugod cya BSOD mga 3-4 times na.
Last night while loading a game in Dota 2, PC froze so I turned it off using power button, pag on nko, Naa mga 7-8 black lines during Windows startup followed by a complete black screen, ON ang CPU..

What I did,
1. System restore, several attempts using different restore points, not resolved

2. Removed GPU and cleaned, not resolved

3. Tried turning on without GPU, monitor connected to mobo, turned on fine.


So guba na ni ako GPU?dli na ni na repair? Thanks in advance

Oven BAKED your GPU, not a guaranteed fix though. Better replace it. .

should have checked tung nagsugod na bsod, im sure gpu related to. display errors means hardware issue na. time to replace card, or gamble baking it as stated above.

Thanks for the help guys, mupalit nlng koh new GPU, u think a GTX 960 2GB will do well for 1080 gaming high to ultra? Dota 2 and occasional BF4 CSGO ra ako duwaon, mostly dota 2..

^ GTX 960 is a good choice for 1080p since you will play Battlefield 4 w/c is a Graphically intensive game pd. .

What PSU are you using?

I forgot about the brand but I know it's not well known, 600 watts but dili true rated. Pwede kato ra?

^ Bsan pag 600 watts Generic PSU pna but the 12V rail can't power up the GTX 960. .resulta ana boto na imong GPU. .Generic PSU isn't a recommended use for GPU that has 6/8 pin. .

i've been using it with the 6870 for more or less 2 yrs now

basin imong psu maoy nihinay-hinayg patay sa imo MSI 6870.invest on a good psu first.

Oh yeah I did baked my old GPUs a few years ago, somehow worked for a while but eventually died after a couple of months. But should serve as temporary fix while wala pkay ika ilis hehe. amazing things you can do with your oven lol. :P
