Bro unsa ni na virus? bago rko ka experience ani. Di nko ka sud akong hard disk kay C:\windows\smss.exe missing daw. bago rko na human format ako gi connect sa net gud para update sa OS. sudlan dayon virus. Unsaon pag cure ani? AVG ra gd anti virus nko. Di nko ka sud akong hard disk. Akong mga files!!! noooooooooo!!!

ala dai nimo gipartition? ako ky lahi man gud ang OS ug ako mga files.. well anywayz try system restore it works on me.. f pariha ta ug virus try right click sa hdd nmo nya open or explore f dli try search sa drive just click search.. f ala aw lain sad na na virus wahehehe... ksad sad ana..

pareha ta virus bro. ma open ra bsta right click then search program. ako man gi partition tanan jd drive na infected. ambot ni kalit rman. Bago ni nga virus?

It seems your OS is corrupted...The only chance is to copy the smss.exe or repair it.

putting your freshly-installed PC online before installing any kind of protection like Anti-Virus or Firewalls... hehehe...

btw, you can boot from your OS installer and do a repair so that the system files are copied back ..

Virus daw base sa net. mo disguise sya as smss.exe di sad ma detect ang virus bsag na clean na. Na corrupt jd akong OS. hahays format nko sugod.
Ok ra kng AVG anti-virus nya ON ang windows firewall pero ako gi off ang firewall sa linksys router and speedstream modem. samukan gud ko cge portforward.
Mka hold nana sa virus, spywares, malwares etc ang AVG + windows firewall?

IMO, anti-virus software applications have different virus definitions that's y some would say Norton or McAfee can't detect certain intrusions while AVG can...the ONLY prevention for possible infections is be careful whenever you access or surf websites...or even ads kay vulnerable jud kaau ang pc these days...

That smss.exe isn't a virus, this is located to WINDOWS\sytem32\ folder. You don't need to reformat your computer and install it again the OS. I'm telling you that you're just wasting your time. If the smss.exe is located outside the WINDOWS folder then that could be a malware. If the smss.exe is located in the WINDOWS\system32 folder then it isn't a malware. You can solve you problem by copying the smss.exe from your installer then paste it to the WINDOWS\system32 suing the Recovery Console of the Windows XP installer. Much better if you repair your OS para hindi kana mahirapan.
