    I wonder what Roxas threatened Rappler with for them to come out and appologize. Grabe jud cguro ang threats. First of all, what they wrote was in no way libelous. Secondly, other online and print publications carried the same story and some even with video. So Roxas is on record as saying what has been quoted. So why is only Rappler apologizing? Maybe because Rappler is relatively new to the scene and mao ra kaya ma hulga ug braso ni Mar.

    Nothing to back it up except noting that nothing Rappler put out is libelous. Everything was based on facts and on what Mar Roxas is on record as saying. So they have nothing to apologize for. If you are familiar will the laws on libel, you will know this. So I am just speculating. Hahaha

    hah, just speculations

    Indeed everything quoted was based on facts but at the same time, rappler apologized because they obviously realized that the statement they chose to quote didn't FULLY represent Mar's position on this issue. The quote would suggest that Mar is insensitive about the issue when in FACT he isn't if you'd read his COMPLETE statement.. So yeah, Rappler should obviously apologize for that..

    @yhokz:
    Not to discredit you, but Im guessing you did not read the links you posted..

    First, take note that in our inflationary world, in terms of absolute amount, govt debt (both domestic and foreign) will always grow larger each year. However, in terms of ratio to GDP, this will vary on the existing govt. policies and economic status..
    Im mentioning Debt to GDP ratio as it basically means how much is your debt compared to what your earning.. Needless to say, if your percentage is more than 100%, your spending more than what you earn - which is currently the situation of the US right now..

    In the NSCB link it says:
    “Looks like the women presidents–mothers–wanted to pay our debt more,” NSCB claimed, citing that Mrs. Aquino paid 19.8 percent of the outstanding debt, followed by Mrs. Arroyo at 15.6 percent.

    During his 2010-2011 tenure, current President Aquino registered 14.6 percent in debt payment–as percentage of the outstanding debt–while Estrada’s records was 11 percent and Ramos 10.6 percent, NSCB noted."

    So in fairness to our late President - Cory Aquino, our former President - GMA and our current President PNoy, in terms of debt payment, I think they've done quite well..

    On your Phil Star link, it says:
    "The country’s debt as a proportion of the country’s whole economy declined further last year, reflecting the government’s successful efforts to manage finances and sustain the growth of the economy.

    Debt-to-GDP (gross domestic product) ratio improved to 45.4 percent at the end of December 2014 from 49.2 percent the previous year as a result of efficient spending."

    The paragraphs are pretty much self explanatory which I would say we're quite in a healthy position ryt now to further leverage ourselves if we wanted to..

    Beyond the politicians and the media, not everything is laid in black in white..
    There are still good and brilliant guys in our various govt agencies doing their job and working to further improve our economic status..

    After reading carefully, the full statement of Mar Roxas, it still shows him to be very insensitive to the plight of those victimized by the laglag bala or tanim bala scandal. Of course kinhanglan imbestigaron ug kinhanglan dili mo jump to conclusions. Pero in the meantime, mag-unsa man ang mga biktima ini? Ma biyaan sa ilang flight? Nya kinsa man mo bayad sa ilang next flight? How will they be compensated for all their lost time, missed events and occasions, possible business losses or loss of jobs? Simple ra man unta kaau ni. While gi investigate pa, ipa imbargo lang unta ang bala nga makit-an unya pa largahon lang ang pasahero. Mao na daghan magduda kung unsa ang gi hulga ni Roxas sa Rappler. Di man sad tingali ingon ana ka bogo si Roxas, so ingon-ana lang tingali cya ka insensitive sa plight sa common nga tao. Ilustrado man gud na cya. Ga dako nga datu nga wala kasabot sa kalisod sa coomon nga tao. Mura man ni ug Yolanda. When it is time to act, mag cge pa ug investigate until too late na. Daghan na ang ni suffer. Hahay ni ang LP. There is a time to talk and a time to act. Pnoy, Mar and the rest of the LP leadership sadly do not know the difference and the people suffer for it.
