i'm hoping to graduate this april pero naa koy g-drop na subject karon first sem. i never failed or dropped a subject in my entire college life. karon lng jud and the it's along story why ni-drop ko. maka-overload ra ko next sem so i hope maka-graduate jud tawn.

comsci..i don't have the passion for it..mao na ko gkahadlokan..im currently into something that is out of my interest..the reason why i'm sticking to it is to have a college diploma..stressful kau ang life sa ako ka comsci student.. i wonder if it still goes the same when one works in the real world na jud.

I'm not sure if these guys are serious in answering your question.

In my opinion, I guess it does a bit. Let's take your case - if this is the first time you've failed a subject or dropped a subject, I don't think it matters that much. However, if your resume shows that you've been failing and dropping subjects like it's the IN thing, of course they'd wonder why and would probably let you explain if you'd get to that phase.

In cases where you need a "backer" for you to get in, that only happens in companies run by corrupt persons.

You shouldn't be too worried though. Life outside the academe is far more complex than loads, subjects and grades.

it does matter gyud. take for example the banking industry, they are so concerned on how you handle life as it is handling money.

i say it depends on the company and the position you are applying for. i know someone who have more than two failed/dropped subjects in college but still he was able to land on a prestigious company. he is a programmer and been working there for a year or so now.

i also don't like the idea of "backers". kana btawng makasulod lng ka because of someone not because of your skills and abilities..chaka jud kau nah..then you'd end up having the feeling na naa ka utang kabubut-on..
