What if the Philippines had been a Portuguese colony and not Spanish?

Any history buff around? I read from somewhere that the Treaty of Tordesillas designated the Philippines to Portugal and not to Spain and the rest has been history. Any insights if we were colonized by Portugal just like Macau, Brazil etc? How would we be different? Share your thoughts and insights

i would prefer to be a British colony, most of the countries colonize by the British are now improving or rich.. hahahaha

Portugese & Spanish... not much of a difference.
Pero kung ni-agi pa lang ta'g British Colony (as compared to US's), kana, mura'g mas maayo ang resulta.

Mas mo prefer lang gihapon ko og American colony. One example would be Hawaii, even though its not as progressive as the one in the mainlands, but still, compared to India.
