why is it a pain?, where if you manage DHCP on hosts (webserver) then all you do is either do a static IP on that OR have your DHCP server reserve a static IP on that webserver... + port forward... wala man gyud ko mag labad ato ako setup , dayon have some program nga monitor sa Dynamic DNS etc...

or perhaps..., I'm doing it wrong?

I was tinkering with hosting before kana lang gud ultra basic, igo ra maka display ug index.php/html then it was hosted on my very own computer @home. and I was able to access it from the web (ako gi test from work and some internet cafe).

if WAN ip of your globe modem is not 10.xxx.xxx.xxx. then you are fine. else, that is the NAT i was talking about.

to give you idea, if you are addicted to facebook, social websites, browsing and that only. You are fine with 2mbps. If you include streaming for movies and video clips from youtube atleast get 5mbps for optimal performance.

Much better pa if gamit lng sa ka ug Dynamic DNS...PLDT HomeDSL still assigns Dynamic Public IP Addresses to its subscribers.

I think sa Globe Dynamic Public IP Address sad for DSL but sa mga mobile...they are indeed using CGN (Carrier Grade NAT). Even SmartBro before are using CGN...mostly basta mobile ing-ana jud...for wired, they can still assign dynamic public ip addresses depende sa availability of their IPv4 address allocation.

Getting a Static Public IP Address right now is already too expensive...IPv6 adoption should have been the solution...hehehe.
